Military forces maintain standby mode to respond to storm Ragasa

On September 22, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army sent an urgent dispatch to units in the Ministry of National Defense on proactively responding to super typhoon Ragasa about to enter the East Sea.

Accordingly, to proactively respond to super typhoon Ragasa (typhoon No. 9), the General Staff requested agencies and units in the army to strictly maintain on-duty regime, proactively monitor and grasp the storm's developments; prepare forces and means to respond promptly and effectively when situations arise; and ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles when performing tasks.

The General Staff also requested military regions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 to direct the Military Commands of provinces and cities to strictly maintain the 112 hotline, proactively advise local Party committees and authorities, inspect and review key areas at risk of flash floods, landslides, riverbank and stream bank landslides, low-lying areas, support people to reinforce their houses, evacuate from dangerous areas; direct subordinate units to coordinate with units stationed in the area to prepare forces and means to help local authorities and people respond, overcome consequences and search and rescue.

The Border Guard Command directs the Border Guard Commands of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Lam Dong to closely monitor the storm's developments; coordinate with local authorities and competent agencies to strictly manage vehicles, organize counting, promptly notify vehicle owners, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of ​​the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm to move to avoid, take shelter or not enter dangerous areas. Provide instructions on how to arrange for ships and boats to anchor in safe shelters.

The Vietnam Navy and Coast Guard directed their agencies and units to deploy safety measures and prepare forces and means for search and rescue when situations arise at sea or on islands.

The Air Defense - Air Force, Corps 18 inspected and reviewed plans, organized forces and vehicles to be ready to conduct search and rescue flights by air when ordered by the ministry.

The Signal Corps ensures timely and smooth communication to serve the direction and administration of the Head of the Ministry of National Defense with the Government and relevant agencies and units; prepares plans to ensure communication to serve rescue work, especially in isolated areas.

The Military Industry - Telecommunications Group coordinates with the Department of Rescue and Relief, the Central Post Office and relevant agencies and units to ensure internet connection and other necessary conditions to ensure online connection to serve command and operation according to the Government's scenario when establishing the Forward Command Center...
