Many meaningful activities at the Vietnam - Cambodia Defense Friendship Exchange

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc, Director of the Propaganda Department (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army) said that on the basis of the successful organization of the first Border Defense Friendship Exchange in 2022 by the Ministries of National Defense of Vietnam and Cambodia in the border area of Binh Phuoc province (old) of Vietnam and Kratie province of Cambodia; this exchange is one of the key defense foreign affairs events and activities in 2025 of the Ministries of National Defense and the armies of the two countries.

"The success of the exchange will demonstrate the solidarity, friendship, tradition, and good comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia; directly contribute to consolidating political trust, promoting cooperation, especially between border management and protection forces, local authorities and people in the border areas of the two countries in a practical and effective manner, building a peaceful , friendly, stable, cooperative and developing Vietnam-Cambodia border," Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc affirmed.

According to Colonel Dang Thanh Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs ( Ministry of National Defense ), the main activities planned to be held in Vietnam include: Official welcoming ceremony for the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Cambodia; Friendship tree planting; Joint military medical exercise between the two countries' armies; Inauguration ceremony of the Ben Cau Primary School boarding area (Thuan Lam hamlet, Ben Cau commune, Tay Ninh province); Twinning ceremony of residential clusters on both sides of the border between Long Cuong hamlet (Long Thuan commune, Tay Ninh province, Vietnam) and O Ta Mo hamlet (Mon No Rum commune, Svay Teap district, Svay Rieng province, Cambodia); Talks and signing of cooperation documents between the two Ministries of National Defense; visit to the Traditional House of Division 5 (Military Region 7).

In Cambodia, the main activities include: Welcoming and farewell ceremonies for the Vietnamese Minister of National Defense; Salute and vermilion marking of Sovereignty Marker 171; Friendship tree planting; Joint patrol between the border management and protection forces of the two countries; Groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the friendship project Sang Sovan Primary School (Svay Teap district, Svay Rieng province); Visit to the headquarters of the Gendarmerie Command of Svay Rieng province.

Within the framework of the Defense Friendship Exchange between the two countries, there will be activities such as: Military medical staff of the two countries will coordinate to examine, treat and provide free medicine to people on both sides of the border; give breeding cows to 20 households in the border area; Exchange of young border officers between Vietnam and Cambodia.
To contribute to the overall success of the exchange, the young officer exchange activity demonstrates the consistency and unanimity of Vietnamese and Cambodian authorities in border management and protection, strengthening the trust of the people, border guards and authorities.

The Vietnam - Cambodia border young officer exchange will have the participation of 30 young officers from the Royal Cambodian Army Command and 30 young Vietnamese officers from the Army and Police forces currently performing duties in the border areas of the two countries, especially the Border Guard force. The young officers will carry out typical activities together such as: planting youth friendship trees; sports exchanges; participating in activities to disseminate and educate the law to people in the areas on both sides of the border; art and political exchange talks...

It is known that the exchange between young officers of the two countries will be organized in the form of a dramatization to demonstrate the spirit of friendship, solidarity and development, and to join hands in protecting the increasingly strong border.
