This morning (November 29), the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that around tomorrow afternoon (November 30), cold air will begin to spread and affect the North, then the North Central and Central Central regions. Northeast winds inland will be strong at level 3, coastal areas at level 4-5, gusting at level 6.
From the night of November 30, in the Northern and North Central regions, the weather will turn cold, with some mountainous areas in the North experiencing severe cold.
Notably, due to the influence of strong cold air combined with the East wind, from the evening of November 30 to December 3, in the area from South Nghe An to Binh Dinh, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain with common rainfall of 100-300mm/period, in some places over 400mm/period.
Specifically, the Central Central Region Hydrometeorological Station said that during the above time, in the provinces and cities from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai, there is a possibility of widespread heavy rain.
Total rainfall in the areas is as follows: Quang Binh, Quang Tri 50-150mm, some places over 200mm; Thua Thien Hue 150-300mm, some places over 450mm; from Da Nang - Quang Ngai 100-250mm, some places over 350mm.
At the same time, also this morning, the news of the Hydrometeorological Station of Thua Thien Hue province announced that from November 30 to December 3, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places. The total rainfall is commonly 150-350mm, with some places over 500mm.
“The heaviest rain will be concentrated in the plains, midlands, coastal areas and the south of the province during the period from December 1-2,” the bulletin noted.
Forecasting the impact of heavy rain, it is necessary to guard against flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas in the above provinces and cities.
In addition, from the night of November 30 to December 4, the Central Highlands will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas having moderate to heavy rain, mainly concentrated in the East. In the South, from the night of November 30 to December 6, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
According to meteorological experts, the period from the second half of November to the first half of December continues to be the rainy season in the Central region, so heavy rains will still appear, especially in the Central and South Central regions.
Total rainfall in most areas across the country during this period was also 15-40% higher than the average of many years; in the Northern region, it was approximately the same as the average of the same period.
