Expanding Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway to 6 to 8 lanes

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said the Prime Minister has assigned to find PPP investors to expand and complete 8 lanes for the entire route from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho.

At the end of the question-and-answer session on the morning of November 6, National Assembly delegate Pham Van Hoa ( Dong Thap delegation) raised the issue with the Minister of Planning and Investment about whether or not to study investment in the Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway, because this expressway is currently congested and has no bypass.

On the afternoon of November 6, responding to this issue, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that regarding investment in the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong, Trung Luong - My Thuan - Can Tho traffic routes to ensure synchronization according to the design, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has assigned the Ministry of Transport and is looking for investors in the form of PPP, to completely expand the route to 6 complete lanes and 8 complete lanes for the entire Ho Chi Minh City - Can Tho route.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment affirmed that it fully agrees with this policy.

The Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway is 51 km long and currently has 4 lanes. Traffic jams often occur on this section of the highway.
