
The Tu Nhien Safe Vegetable Cooperative, Tu Nhien residential group, Moc Son ward has 40 members, growing 32 types of vegetables, tubers, and fruits, with a total area of over 25 hectares, each hectare brings in a profit of about 500 million VND/year. Ms. Nguyen Thi Luyen, Director of the Tu Nhien Safe Vegetable Cooperative, said: To prepare a source of vegetables to supply the market at the end of the year, the Cooperative has directed and guided members and associated households to plant; invested in water-saving irrigation systems, growing vegetables according to VietGAP standards, ensuring food hygiene and safety. The Cooperative has invested in 12 hectares of greenhouses, net houses and misting and drip irrigation systems on 100% of the Cooperative's vegetable production area; products are labeled with traceability stamps and codes for each member household.

Meanwhile, in Pa Phach residential group, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dong's family is actively taking care of the tomato area, ensuring quality to meet the market demand at the end of the year. Mr. Dong shared: My family grows more than 1 hectare of tomatoes. To improve the quality and prevent diseases on tomato plants, I have invested in building a greenhouse, drip irrigation system, and using biological pesticides. This year's tomato crop, the family expects to harvest 60 tons of fruit, with an average selling price of 25,000 VND/kg.

Taking us to visit the strawberry garden of more than 1.6 hectares of Mr. Hoang Van Bang, Na Ang residential group, shared: Strawberries are planted around September of the solar calendar, starting to be harvested from the end of December to the beginning of April of the following year. The selection of varieties plays a key role. The strawberry varieties must be healthy plants, purchased from reputable establishments. During the care process, fertilizers must also be microbial fertilizers, organic fertilizers combined with manure to provide enough nutrients for the plants. In particular, regulations on food safety and the use of pesticides are strictly followed according to VietGAP standards, in order to create clean, safe products, meeting consumer needs. Taking care of strawberries is hard work, but compared to other plants, the value of strawberries is much higher, on average each hectare of strawberries yields nearly 15 tons of fruit, with a value of about 2 billion VND.

This winter-spring crop, farmers in Moc Son ward planted more than 300 hectares of various vegetables and more than 100 hectares of strawberries, mainly concentrated in the residential groups of Tu Nhien, Na Ang, Pa Phach... The ward has directed the professional department and the villages and residential groups to select crops with good output markets, grow many different types of vegetables for easy consumption; focus on maintaining and repairing irrigation works, ensuring irrigation water for production. Cooperatives, cooperatives and vegetable growing households in Moc Son ward actively participate in the model of growing vegetables according to VietGAP standards, strictly implementing technical processes, ensuring food hygiene and safety, building a brand of clean and safe vegetables.

Ms. Tran Thi Huong, Vice Chairwoman of Moc Son Ward People's Committee, informed: The Ward People's Committee has coordinated with specialized agencies and directed villages and residential groups to propagate and encourage households and cooperatives to grasp market demand to grow a variety of vegetables, tubers and fruits; apply technology to all stages from planting, caring to harvesting. Investing in greenhouses, net houses and modern drip irrigation systems has helped minimize the impact of weather, improve productivity and product quality. It is expected that by the end of the year, the ward will supply more than 1,000 tons of green vegetables to serve the market in and outside the province.
