On the morning of May 31, information from the Environmental Police Department of the Provincial Police said that the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province has just issued Decision No. 1340/QD-UBND on administrative sanctions against Kim Viet Vietnam Shoes Company Limited, located in Nong Cong town, Nong Cong district; the legal representative is Mr. Luu Kim Thu (Taiwanese nationality), for the act of discharging wastewater exceeding the permitted technical standards.
Kim Viet Vietnam Shoes Company Limited was fined for discharging wastewater exceeding standards.
Through the investigation, the Environmental Police Department, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police discovered that Kim Viet Vietnam Shoes Company Limited was discharging wastewater into the environment with signs of exceeding the permitted technical standards. Immediately after that, the Environmental Police Department coordinated with relevant units to inspect the compliance with environmental protection laws of Kim Viet Vietnam Shoes Company Limited and collected samples of the wastewater being discharged into the environment.
The results of water sample analysis, document collection and fighting with related subjects determined that Kim Viet Vietnam Shoes Company Limited regularly discharged wastewater at a flow rate of 70 m3 /day (24 hours). At the time of inspection, the wastewater sample at Kim Viet Vietnam Shoes Company Limited had 4 indicators exceeding the permitted level as follows: Coliform exceeded 8.6 times, NH4 + exceeded 8.4 times, TSS exceeded 1.9 times, BOD5 exceeded 1.3 times.
With the above behavior, based on the provisions of Decree No. 45/2022/ND-CP dated July 7, 2022 of the Government on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of environmental protection, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police advised the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to issue a decision to fine Kim Viet Vietnam Shoes Company Limited with an amount of 425 million VND.
