The Ministry of National Defence has just announced the minimum admission scores for regular military university and college programs (threshold scores). According to the announcement, three military schools have set a difference in cutoff scores for different subject combinations in cases where a single major accepts multiple combinations. One school even has a cutoff score difference of up to 3.5 points between the C00 and A00 subject combinations.

This year, 20 military schools nationwide are participating in the admissions process for regular military university and college programs. Of these, 18 schools offer university-level programs, and 2 offer college-level programs (but 3 schools offer college-level programs as one school admits students to both levels).
The Political Officer Training School has the lowest minimum admission score (14.5 for the A00 combination), followed by the Border Guard Academy (14.61 for the A01 combination, border guard major). Most of the remaining schools set minimum scores of 17 or higher, including the two colleges. The Military Science Academy has the highest minimum admission score, 23 points for female candidates in language majors (combinations D01, D02, D04).
Specifically for the basic military training program at the two Army Officer Schools 1 and 2, the minimum admission score for university is 15, and for college is 10.
Most military schools apply a common cutoff score for a given group and region, even though they use multiple subject combinations for admission. Only three schools specify a difference in cutoff scores: the Border Guard Academy, the Political Officer School, and the College of Cryptography and Technical Sciences.
Specifically, the Political Officer Training School stipulates a difference of 3.5 points between the admission scores for the C00 combination (the original combination) and A00 (the A00 cutoff score will be 3.5 points lower than C00). The Border Guard Academy has a difference of 3.39 points between C00 and A01.
Details on the minimum admission scores can be found here.
Because military schools use the scores from the aptitude tests of the two national universities for admissions, the Ministry of National Defense has also issued conversion tables for these tests to equate them with high school graduation exam scores. See the conversion table for the aptitude test scores of Hanoi National University here, and the conversion table for the aptitude test scores of Ho Chi Minh City National University here.
