A volatile week, rice prices tend to increase

Rice prices today, July 7, in the Mekong Delta region remained stable. Rice market transactions were slow and prices were stable.

Specifically, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the rice varieties today have not changed. Of which, IR 50404 rice price fluctuates around 6,800 - 6,900 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice price is 7,100 - 7,200 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice price is stable at 7,000 - 7,100 VND/kg; OM 18 rice price is 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg; OM 380 price fluctuates from 7,200 - 7,300 VND/kg. Japanese rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 price is 7,600 - 7,700 VND/kg and Nang Nhen rice (dry) is at 20,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, the sticky rice market recorded no adjustment compared to yesterday. 3-month sticky rice (dry) remained unchanged compared to the price from 8,800 VND/kg to 9,000 VND/kg. In addition, 9,000 - 9,200 VND/kg is the selling price applied to Long An sticky rice (dry). On the other hand, 3-month sticky rice (fresh) and Long An sticky rice (fresh) continued to be stable today.

During the past week, rice prices fluctuated in an upward direction at the beginning of the week, decreased in the middle of the week and remained stable at the end of the week. In many localities, rice prices fluctuated little, transactions were stable, and traders asked to buy regularly.

Similarly, the prices of various types of rice today also remained unchanged after yesterday's adjustment session. Specifically, raw IR 504 Summer-Autumn rice was stable at 10,750-10,900 VND/kg; finished IR 504 rice was stable at 12,800-12,900 VND/kg.

There is no adjustment in the by-products today compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 sheet has no adjustment compared to yesterday at 9,100 - 9,200 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry bran remains stable at 7,000 - 7,100 VND/kg.

In today's rice market, transactions are stable, prices fluctuate little, warehouses buy a lot, sources come in little; new rice quality is bad, difficult to sell.

At retail markets, rice prices have not been adjusted. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of 30,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice 20,000 VND/kg; regular rice fluctuates around 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice 20,000 - 21,000 VND/kg; Huong jasmine rice 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice 18,500 VND/kg; Thai Soc rice 20,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices have not been adjusted. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice is at 470 USD/ton; 5% broken standard rice is currently at 572 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is stable at 547 USD/ton.
