"Thanh Loc is the number one talent of the Southern drama stage"
Few people know that artist Dinh Toan's chance to enter the art world was quite accidental. He graduated from the tourism industry and intended to become a reporter, but the stage made him change direction.

It was Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc who directly invited Dinh Toan to join the children's storytelling group Liu Lo when he was a supporting dancer.
Among the veteran artists such as Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc, Meritorious Artist Bach Long, Hoang Trinh, Thanh Thuy, Dinh Toan is the only new face. With his first leading role, he was so scared and clumsy that he was scolded by the cameraman.
Over the years, Dinh Toan gradually matured. He actively participated in the activities of Idecaf Drama Stage, famous for the series Once Upon a Time . Thanks to his bright face, gentle smile and natural expressive style, the artist was assigned to play the role of a prince in many popular plays.
When Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc and a number of famous actors left, Idecaf Theater faced a major crisis. As one of the few who remained, Dinh Toan admitted that he was under a lot of pressure.
Thanh Loc's departure is the loss of a leader. The pressure on Dinh Toan is not competition but how to keep the stage with the audience.
For him, Idecaf is not only his life but also the life of many other people.

In response to VietNamNet 's question: What do you think about the information "Dinh Toan will replace Thanh Loc"?, the male artist frankly expressed: "I think this information is correct. Let's look at the word 'replace' in a positive sense.
When Mr. Loc was no longer at Idecaf, someone had to do that job and I was chosen by the stage management. In terms of ability, I never compare because to me, Mr. Thanh Loc is the number one talent of the Southern drama stage."
Fortunately, after a difficult period, Idecaf is still strong, its shows are constantly "sold out" and it maintains its leading brand today.
Dinh Toan also devoted much thought to the younger generation - those who would follow him and previous generations of actors. The artist hopes that they will never lose their passion for acting.
He believes that every success requires time, effort and perseverance. Everyone should cherish every little opportunity, because it is an accumulation process.
“You should observe and learn from the previous generation. Not everyone is born with a halo, but everyone can create their own halo. What matters is how you want to shine,” Dinh Toan expressed.
15 years of dedicated work in special charity
For many years, Dinh Toan has been the host of the charity program God of Wealth Knocks on the Door (broadcast since 2010). Transforming into the image of “God of Wealth”, the artist with his sincere and friendly hosting style has contributed to helping the program spread widely to the audience.

Dinh Toan sees this not only as a job but also as a part of his responsibility in life. The 15-year journey of the program with more than 800 situations is an invaluable lesson about the will to live for him.
In the early days, the male artist was bewildered because of his lack of leadership experience. He found the work hard and even considered giving up. However, his mother's advice: "Consider this a way to contribute to this life" made him change his mind.
Since then, Dinh Toan has not only found ways to talk and listen, but also learned sign language to connect more deeply with disabled and disadvantaged people. Their determination has given Dinh Toan the strength to be more optimistic.
The program has the mission of becoming a bridge, giving strength to the disabled with strong will to rise up. Dinh Toan is optimistic when seeing their positive changes in recent years.
“Now, they are no longer stories for us to sympathize with, but examples of extraordinary willpower, inspiring society.
They make clay flowers, write books, teach English, become athletes… They teach us lessons about appreciating what we have,” he shared.

In contrast to his lively and playful image on stage, Dinh Toan is a quiet and introverted person in real life. He finds joy in simple things.
The artist believes that when he is too active on stage, he needs some quiet time for himself. Dinh Toan chooses to think positively about everything, what will come will come and keep the most optimistic attitude.
There are three things Dinh Toan never shows off on social media or in real life: luxury goods, personal life, and lovers. He believes that an artist needs to know when to stop to protect himself from the temptation of fame.
For many years, Dinh Toan lived with his elderly mother in Ho Chi Minh City. Except when he had to travel far for work, no matter where he went, he still had to come home and sleep with his mother at night.

When his career is stable, the artist's concept of happiness also becomes simpler. Although he is sometimes lonely and troubled, he feels happy. Dinh Toan is not afraid of lonely old age because in reality, he has lived like that for many years and is happy with this choice.
“My greatest joy outside of art is my family. Happiness to me is knowing what is enough. During a working day, I take notes on my phone, and when I finish a task, I delete it.
Seeing a blank day in the calendar makes me happy. Or simply waking up in the morning, washing my hair, and looking around at a clean house is enough to make me happy,” he said.

"Each person only lives one life, as long as they are happy, that's all that matters. As for me, I don't think I have the responsibility to get married and have children...", Dinh Toan shared.
