Nam Dinh: traffic infrastructure "bottlenecks" cleared, creating new momentum for socio-economic development

The putting into use of key traffic projects is considered to be of great importance to Nam Dinh province, increasing connectivity between economic zones in the province and with localities in the region, shortening the time for goods circulation.

The development axis connects the Nam Dinh province's marine economic zone with the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway with a total length of about 46km.

Shorten the time of goods circulation, creating favorable conditions to attract investment

Nam Dinh has many advantages to develop a synchronous and modern transportation system when it owns a diverse and interconnected transportation system, connecting many forms of transportation, including roads, inland waterways, sea routes, and national railways running through the area, which is very convenient for developing trade.

Coming to Nam Dinh today, it can be seen that the province's road network has been formed in the form of radial roads, belt roads, connecting with district roads and rural traffic, creating a complete traffic network, convenient for people to travel and develop local socio-economy.

In recent times, Nam Dinh has also completed and put into use a number of key inter-provincial and inter-regional connection projects, such as: The coastal road section through Nam Dinh province; the development axis connecting the Nam Dinh marine economic zone with the Cau Gie- Ninh Binh expressway (phase I); Nghia Hung canal cluster (Day-Ninh Co); Provincial roads 487B, 488C...

For a long time, Nam Dinh's efficiency in attracting investment and developing its socio-economy was not high, partly due to "bottlenecks" in the transport infrastructure system.

Therefore, putting into use key traffic projects is considered to be extremely important for Nam Dinh province, increasing connectivity between economic zones in the province and with localities in the region.

At the same time, it shortens the time for goods circulation, creating favorable conditions to attract investment in industry and develop trade and services in the province. As a result, from 2021 to August 2024, the whole province has granted new investment registration certificates and adjusted capital increases for 256 projects with a total registered capital of more than 115,565 billion VND and 635.8 million USD (the total registered investment capital has exceeded the investment attraction target for the entire period of 2021-2025).

Highly appreciating the attractive plus point of the investment environment in Nam Dinh province, which is the key inter-regional connection traffic projects, Mr. Nguyen Van Kiem, General Director of Bao Minh Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company, said that promoting investment in key traffic routes, connecting within the province as well as with the capital Hanoi, Hai Phong port and neighboring provinces and cities has created favorable conditions for businesses in traveling, transporting goods and connecting trade.

Creating momentum for Nam Dinh to "take off" to become one of the fairly developed provinces in the country.

Modern transport infrastructure is identified as one of the three strategic breakthroughs of Nam Dinh province. Comrade Pham Gia Tuc, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee, said that the Nam Dinh Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, identifies "focusing resources on investing in the construction, renovation, and upgrading of many important traffic routes connecting regional centers and key points" to create momentum for Nam Dinh to take off and become one of the fairly developed provinces in the country by 2030.

To continue modernizing the transport network and creating a breakthrough in socio-economic development, Nam Dinh is focusing all resources to effectively implement Phase II of the project to build a development axis road connecting the Nam Dinh province's marine economic zone with the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh expressway; the new Nam Dinh-Lac Quan-coastal road (with a total length of 33km, 8 lanes, total investment of nearly 9,000 billion VND from the provincial budget, expected to be completed in August 2025); construction of a bridge over the Day River connecting Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh provinces (part of the Ninh Binh-Nam Dinh-Thai Binh-Hai Phong expressway)...
