From May 26-28, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the Department of Organization and Personnel in coordination with the Foreign Affairs Cadre Training and Development Board (FOSET), Diplomatic Academy, organized a training course on "Artificial Intelligence and its application in foreign affairs" in direct and online forms, for cadres of units under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking at the opening of the training course, FOSET Acting Director Ngo Quang Anh emphasized: “The topic of artificial intelligence and AI application in foreign affairs is a content that the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pay special attention to and closely direct. This can be considered one of the first official courses to train and foster diplomatic staff with basic knowledge and practical skills in applying AI in daily work.”

Mr. Ngo Quang Anh said that the program attracted a large number of students with 105 people attending directly at the headquarters at 1 Ton That Dam and 36 people studying online from the bridge at 2 Le Quang Dao, reflecting the great interest of the foreign affairs staff in the new wave of technology.
The course consists of three topics taught by leading experts. In the first topic, Edmicro Company Limited General Director Nguyen Ngoc Que presented an overview of artificial intelligence (AI) and its basic applications. During the session, students asked many practical questions and discussed enthusiastically about the application of AI in data collection, research, policy analysis, translation support, promoting the "Digital Education for the People" movement and serving the work of state officials.

The second topic on “The impact of AI on international relations and foreign affairs” was presented by Dr. Ngo Di Lan, Institute for Strategic Studies of Diplomatic Academy, and finally the topic “10 cases of using AI assistants at work” was presented by MSc. Le Duy Tien, AI application expert of the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Science and Technology .
Through the program, staff are updated with the latest knowledge about artificial intelligence, from theoretical foundations to practical applications in foreign affairs activities, including research, report synthesis, policy development, communication... At the same time, students are instructed on how to effectively exploit tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude... to plan and improve work performance.

The course contributes to improving the capacity of technology application for diplomatic staff, aiming at the goal of proactively adapting and innovating in the digital transformation period, thereby improving the effectiveness of foreign affairs work in the period when the country enters a new era of development.
