According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Ngai province, the whole province has nearly 265,000 hectares of forest, of which nearly 107 hectares are natural forests and more than 158 hectares are planted forests. In 2025, it is forecasted that in Quang Ngai province, there will be more than 159,000 hectares in key areas with high risk of forest fires. In 2024, there were 5 forest fires in the province, causing damage to nearly 17 hectares of planted forests. In the first 5 months of 2025, there have been no forest fires in Quang Ngai province. However, due to the severe heat, the risk of forest fires is high. Mr. Hien said that propaganda must have a key focus, with a high risk of forest fires.
In propaganda work, we must clearly identify the person, ensure that they are understood and managed. And in propaganda work, we must strongly promote sanctions.
Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee also requested to organize 24/7 forest fire prevention and fighting during the peak months of the dry season; closely inspect and monitor people entering the forest to collect honey and hunt at high-risk areas. The Provincial People's Committee also directed to temporarily stop slash-and-burn farming activities during hot weather.
