Trang Dinh Electricity staff checked trees in the power grid corridor to develop a treatment plan.
According to a review by Lang Son Electricity Company in January 2025, there are still more than 22,000 trees planted in the power grid corridor area that are at risk of causing grid incidents.
Mr. Hoang Van Cong, Deputy Head of Safety Department, Lang Son Electricity Company said: Each incident on the power grid caused by people cutting down trees and causing them to fall on the power lines has caused the company hundreds of millions of dong in damage to fix the incident. More dangerously, this violation by people not only causes difficulties in repairing, maintaining and operating the power lines but also endangers the lives of people in that area.
In order to minimize incidents caused by people planting trees in violation of grid safety, Lang Son Power Company has directed the power companies of districts and cities to regularly inspect and fix locations of sagging and sagging power lines that do not meet safety distance standards; assign staff to monitor and promptly detect areas where trees are growing at high risk of causing grid incidents...
In particular, the company has directed power companies to organize the treatment and clearing of trees in the power grid corridor area. Accordingly, in the first 3 months of 2025, power companies in charge of the areas have organized the treatment of 100% of trees with very high risk (red level) and treated 53% of trees with high risk (yellow level) in the power grid corridor area.
According to Decree No. 17/2022/ND-CP dated January 31, 2022 of the Government amending and supplementing a number of articles of the decrees regulating administrative sanctions in the fields of chemicals and industrial explosives; electricity, hydroelectric dam safety, economical and efficient use of energy;..., the fine for people who violate the safety of power grid corridors ranges from 30 to 50 million VND. In 3 cases of people violating the law on cutting down trees that fell on power lines causing electrical incidents, the authorities fined 1 household in Bang Mac commune, Chi Lang district 30 million VND. In the remaining two cases, Lang Son Electricity Company has transferred the files to the authorities for handling. |
Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Deputy Director of Lang Son Electricity Company said: To thoroughly resolve the situation of people planting trees in violation of the safety of the power grid corridor, the key solution is still to step up propaganda for people to raise awareness in complying with regulations according to the Electricity Law.
Identifying key solutions, in the first 3 months of 2025, the power companies under Lang Son Power Company conducted 5 specialized propaganda campaigns on regulations in protecting power projects and safety in the electricity sector for nearly 1,000 people.
In addition, the company also regularly sends messages with propaganda content about regulations and legal documents related to the Electricity Law on protecting power works and ensuring safety of power grid corridors to nearly 265 thousand customers using electricity through the customers' zalo addresses; conduct weekly propaganda on electrical safety on the radio system in communes, wards and towns; coordinate with the authorities of communes, wards and towns to organize propaganda through village and residential area meetings; through maintenance and repair of the power system combined with distributing leaflets, and at the same time explaining specifically so that people can understand clearly;...
According to the leader of Lang Son Electricity Company, to overcome the problems caused by people planting trees in violation of grid corridor safety, from now until the end of June 2025, the power companies will continue to make detailed statistics of the locations with trees planted in the grid corridor area to find solutions.
With the efforts of Lang Son Electricity Company, it is hoped that in the coming time, the situation of people planting trees in violation of the power grid corridor will no longer exist, thereby helping to minimize electrical incidents causing power outages, thereby contributing to ensuring safe and stable electricity supply for daily life and production in the province.
