Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Pham Hong Thang said: "The risk of school violence and social evils among students is very real if families and schools neglect to educate and supervise students in daily life and online."
Remote prevention
Thanks to her constant attention to her child, Ms. NKL, a parent whose child is studying at a high school in GD commune, recently discovered that her child was threatened with a weapon by a male student in grade 10. Upon discovering the incident, Ms. NKL promptly reported it to the hotline of the Department of Education and Training. Based on the information she provided, the department immediately discussed and directed the principal of the school where the incident occurred to have a timely solution and prevention, to avoid unfortunate consequences, and to prevent the incident from recurring.

According to Ms. NKL, after reporting to the education sector, she continued to advise and remind her child to be aware of self-protection against the risk of school violence. Along with that, she proactively contacted the school to find a way to reconcile the conflict that was happening with her child. Ms. NKL shared more: “10th graders are not mentally stable, they still like to show off their “ego” so it is easy to have conflicts with friends. Therefore, every day when I take my child to school, I have to advise him, pay attention to every change in his behavior to prevent the risk of school violence that may happen to him.”
Meanwhile, Principal of Trang Dai Secondary School Pham Thi Hai Anh (Trang Dai Ward) said: Secondary school students also have many psychological problems of "adolescence", especially students from grades 8 to 9. Therefore, propaganda and education to prevent school violence and social evils among students is very important. In addition to propaganda, there must be close supervision, because the possibility of violence will not only occur during the time students study at school, but in reality, students often "make appointments" to go out to resolve conflicts.
According to the Board of Directors of a private high school with many levels in Ho Nai ward, learning from the recent lesson of an 11th grade student being attacked with a weapon by a group of students from a vocational secondary school in the area when returning home from school, the school has recently implemented many measures to protect students. In particular, focusing on remote prevention is the main focus. In addition, the school also reminds and guides students on how to handle situations that may lead to violence...
Don't be subjective or negligent.
At the online training conference on communication and building safe schools, organized by the Department of Education and Training recently, many opinions expressed concerns about the risks of students being lured abroad to participate in fraudulent activities, especially in border communes. Principals of some secondary and high schools in the border areas of the province said: "One of the risks that makes both families and schools feel worried is that drugs are at risk of entering school-age children, disguised in sophisticated but eye-catching "covers".
In addition, families and schools also share the concern that students aged 15 to 18 are at risk of being lured and sold abroad by human traffickers to participate in transnational fraud rings. Therefore, schools in border areas need more support to disseminate information about the law, especially drug crimes, human trafficking and online fraud.
According to the Board of Directors of Loc Thinh Secondary School (Loc Thanh Commune), in addition to the provincial and commune police forces, the school also coordinates with the Border Guard working in the area to propagate the law to students, especially social evils that easily penetrate school-age children such as drugs "disguised" as candy and drinks. Because it is close to the border of neighboring countries, the school also receives intensive propaganda from law enforcement and border forces about human trafficking and online fraud.
Educational institutions in the province must build a solid layer of protection against the risks of social evils attacking schools and students. Good teaching and good learning must really go hand in hand with building a safe and friendly educational environment. To achieve that synchronization, there must be very close coordination between family and school and important support from law enforcement and protection agencies.
Deputy Director of Department of Education and Training Pham Hong Thang
Deputy Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training Do Thanh Tam said: Since the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, there have been no serious cases of violence affecting the health and lives of students in the province. However, we should not be subjective because the risk of violence among school-age children is very latent and can happen at any time, even from a very small conflict. Moreover, society is increasingly complex, especially the social network environment, which is having a significant negative impact on the psychology and behavior of students.
In the 2025-2026 school year, the Dong Nai Department of Education and Training will also proactively coordinate propaganda to prevent many risks that threaten the health and safety of students, such as: the risk of new drugs entering schools, students participating in illegal racing, especially the risk of students being lured and tricked into going abroad to participate in online fraud activities. If this happens, not only will students lose their opportunity to study, but they will also violate the law, seriously threatening their health and life...
Ms. Do Thanh Tam added: Before entering the new school year 2025-2026, the Department of Education and Training signed a cooperation agreement on propaganda, care and education of students with the departments and branches of the province. Since entering the new school year, the Provincial Police have continuously directed professional departments, police of communes and wards to go to schools to organize propaganda about the law, prevent school violence, drug abuse, online fraud, especially the harmful effects of drugs. The work of propagating the law to students of schools will be carried out by the Department of Education and Training in close coordination with the Provincial Police throughout the school year.
