According to the Trade Promotion Agency, Vietnam has more than 70% of its population using the Internet, and the rate of e-commerce is increasing by 20% per year. Market reports in 2024 estimate the Vietnamese e-commerce market at tens of billions of USD and are forecast to increase sharply in the following years. However, the level of application of digital technology in trade promotion by small and medium enterprises in Vietnam is still limited.
In the context of globalization and the 4.0 industrial revolution taking place strongly, digital transformation has become a key factor helping businesses improve their competitiveness, expand their markets and participate more deeply in the global value chain.
For Vietnam, digital technology and e-commerce are not only a trend but have become a new growth driver for exports, helping Vietnamese businesses directly access global consumers, reduce intermediary costs and increase brand value.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Director of the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion Support (Trade Promotion Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade ), digital technology is completely reshaping global trade promotion activities to be faster, smarter and fairer. Therefore, any enterprise that proactively transforms, applies early, and invests systematically in digital trade promotion will expand its market, improve its competitiveness and affirm its brand in the international market.
