To achieve its population targets by 2025, Quang Ninh province has implemented numerous solutions from the provincial to the grassroots level. Effective communication and education activities aimed at changing behaviors related to population and development have been maintained; reproductive health counseling and examinations have been expanded; and care for the elderly and child protection have been prioritized. These efforts are contributing to improving the quality of the population throughout the province.

In 2025, the provincial population sector has set the goal of maintaining a stable replacement fertility rate, reducing birth rates in high-birth-rate localities, controlling the increase in the sex ratio at birth, and adapting to population aging. Along with this, the focus will shift to population development work, but without neglecting the dissemination of information on contraception, family planning, and ensuring population size…

To achieve this goal, the provincial population sector continues to regularly organize communication activities, especially targeting hard-to-reach groups such as migrants, people with disabilities, and the elderly; implementing activities to improve population quality, such as pre-marital counseling and health check-ups, prenatal and neonatal screening, models for preventing child marriage and consanguineous marriage, and controlling gender imbalance at birth… At the same time, inter-sectoral coordination among agencies, organizations, and associations participating in population work in the province continues to be strengthened. The activities of the population work steering committees at all levels have promoted the role and responsibility of their members, regularly monitoring, inspecting, and evaluating the implementation of goals, tasks, and emulation movements related to population work.

To date, 9,668 pregnant women have been screened for at least 4 common congenital diseases; 8,728 children have been screened for at least 5 common congenital diseases; 3,770 couples have received counseling on pre-marital health check-ups (accounting for 98.6%); and 3,468 couples have undergone pre-marital health check-ups (accounting for 90.8%).
