Regarding the information incident at the National Credit Information Center (CIC), major banks unanimously affirmed that the CIC's information system operates independently from the information systems of credit institutions.
CIC is one of four organizations licensed to provide credit information services in Vietnam. Credit information collected by CIC in accordance with the law does not include information on: Deposit accounts, deposit balances, savings books, payment accounts, debit card numbers, credit card numbers, security codes (CVV/CVC), and customer payment transaction history.
According to Agribank , Agribank's customer service information system meets the international security standard ISO 27001:2022, ensuring continuous, safe and stable operation. Agribank regularly reviews and ensures strict compliance with regulations on security, confidentiality and safety of information systems.

Vietcombank said that its information technology system and database operate securely and are completely independent from CIC's system. The bank has been applying multi-layered security measures according to international standards to protect customer data.
VietinBank informs that this bank does not enter into the CIC system information on balances and deposit transactions, card numbers, security codes (CVV/CVC) or login information for electronic banking services. VietinBank always strictly complies with legal regulations to protect the rights and assets of customers.
BIDV also does not provide CIC with information about deposit accounts, deposit balances, savings books, payment accounts, debit card numbers, credit card numbers, security codes (CVV/CVC), and payment transaction history of customers. Therefore, customers' credit card and e-banking transactions at BIDV are not affected.

Notably, banks have advised customers to be vigilant, as bad actors may take advantage of incidents at CIC, impersonating banks and authorities to commit fraud, spread malware or appropriate users' information and assets.
Some forms of fraud that can occur include: Fake calls and text messages asking users to provide personal information, credit cards, CVV/CVC authentication codes, OTP security codes...

Therefore, customers need to remember, absolutely do not provide passwords, OTP codes or other security information via phone, text messages, links and do not follow any requests from strangers or requests from people of unknown identity.
When receiving a call claiming to be from a competent authority or bank to notify of debt, request account freezing... you need to stay calm, hang up the call, proactively contact the bank's official hotline; or go directly to the bank's branch or transaction office to verify the information.
Banks also provide specific information about the bank's website address, social networking sites, email address and phone number for customers to take note of.
