Banks give away money and SJC gold bars to customers who link their social security accounts on VNeID

(NLDO) – A series of banks and e-wallets have connected with the Ministry of Public Security to deploy the service of linking accounts to receive social security payments on the VNEID application.

Late on August 29th, HDBank announced the launch of a promotional program where customers will receive 150,000 VND and a chance to win one SJC gold bar when linking their account on the VNeID application.

Accordingly, HDBank is cooperating with the Ministry of Public Security to implement a service linking accounts to receive social security payments of 100,000 VND according to the policies of the Party and the State on the VNeID application - "Link HDBank account on VNeID – Enjoy Social Security".

The program applies to all Vietnamese citizens who register with the National Population Data Center and link their HDBank account to VNeID.

Specifically, new customers who open an HDBank account and successfully link it to their social security account on the VNeID application as soon as possible will immediately receive 50,000 VND into their HDBank account (applicable to the first 10,000 customers).

In addition, eligible customers whose account opening order falls within the special milestones on the HDBank system (99, 299, 699, 999, 1,999, 2,999, 3,999, 4,999, 5,999, 6,999, 7,999, 8,999, 9,999, 19,999, 29,999, 39,999, 49,999 and 59,999) will receive an additional gift worth 1 SJC gold bar.

A representative from BIDV stated that in addition to the 100,000 VND that all citizens receive according to the general policy on the VNeID application, those without a bank account will receive an additional gift package of cash and vouchers up to 630,000 VND from the bank when opening a BIDV account on the SmartBanking application to link with their Social Security benefit account, while also experiencing the multi-utility digital ecosystem and participating in the lucky draw program with thousands of discount vouchers...

On August 29th, according to observations by a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper , immediately after the announcement of giving 100,000 VND to each citizen to celebrate Independence Day, many people installed the VNeID application to link it with their payment accounts opened at various banks.

A number of banks have announced that they have collaborated with the Ministry of Public Security to implement a service linking social security payment accounts on the VNeID application.

According to banks, all Vietnamese citizens registered at the National Population Data Center and who have linked their bank accounts to VNeID can now link their accounts to receive social security payments.

For example, at HDBank, if you are an existing customer, you will log into the VNeID application and select "Social Security"; select "Social Security Benefit Account"; select the "HDBank" logo when linking for the first time, or go to "Registration History" and select "Change Social Security Benefit Account" when you need to update the linked account; enter your HDBank payment account number… Customers will follow the instructions on the application to complete the process.

These steps are also explained similarly for account holders of many other commercial banks such as: BIDV, Vietcombank, VietinBank, LPBank, MB, Agribank, Nam A Bank, Co-opBank, TPBank, PvcomBank, Sacombank, Shinhan Bank, NCB…

According to preliminary statistics from the Vietnam National Payment Corporation (NAPAS), the company has coordinated with units under the Ministry of Public Security and related agencies to deploy utilities serving social security; implemented the first phase of social security payment services, linking social security numbers with bank accounts and Mobile Money accounts for 17 banks, and several e-wallets such as VNPT Money and Viettel Money.

For new customers, to connect to their social security account on VNeID, banks say they can download the app to open an account, then follow the instructions to receive social security payments.

According to banks, the linked account must be a VND account, owned by the same person, active, and not subject to any restrictions. The VNeID application, developed by the National Population Data Center, can be searched for and downloaded from CH Play (for Android) or the App Store (for iOS), and is labeled as a government application or developed by a state agency. Customers are advised to carefully check the information of the applications before downloading them.
