DTO - In recent times, the industry and trade sector of Dong Thap has strengthened propaganda work, raising awareness of the entire political system, businesses and people about the importance of industrial development in the socio-economic development orientation of the province.
Industry and trade sector supports enterprises with equipment and machinery to enhance product value chain
Dong Thap Department of Industry and Trade has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue Decision No. 752/QD-UBND-HC approving the Project on restructuring the industrial sector of Dong Thap province to 2025, with a vision to 2030, with a focus and key points, associated with the implementation of the Project on restructuring the agricultural sector. On that basis, the Provincial People's Committee directs to prioritize the use of integrated capital sources, promote the restructuring of the industrial sector towards increasing the proportion of processing and manufacturing industries and improving labor productivity of the industrial sector; prioritize the use of integrated capital sources, promote the construction of high-quality agricultural and aquatic production areas, supply raw materials for industrial processing, contributing to increasing the proportion of industrial processing industries. This will contribute to increasing the industrial production value in 2022 to an estimated 66,200 billion VND (2010 comparable price), and in 2023 to an estimated 72,400 billion VND. The added value of the industrial sector (GRDP) in 2023 is estimated at 11,707 billion VND. The total import-export turnover is estimated to increase by an average of 7% per year in the period 2021 - 2023; border trade imports in 2023 are estimated at about 110 million USD...
Besides, the province always pays attention to and promotes the economic advantages of the province's border gates to develop the socio-economy and export goods, and develop industry in border areas. In particular, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 60/KH-UBND dated February 25, 2022 to implement Conclusion No. 245-KL/TU dated November 23, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee, term XI, on socio-economic development in the border area of Dong Thap province, period 2021 - 2025 and Plan No. 55/KH-UBND dated February 21, 2022 to implement Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on socio-economic development of Hong Ngu city to 2025, with a vision to 2030. At the same time, concretize the Central's policy on border economic development in the spirit of Resolution No. 23/NQ-CP dated March 2, 2022 of the Government on economic development in the land border area; Directive No. 07/CT-TTg dated March 15, 2021 of the Prime Minister on attracting social resources in the mainland, sea and island economic zones, associated with firmly protecting national sovereignty and improving people's lives. In particular, it is expected that by the end of 2023, An Hoa Industrial Cluster, Hong Ngu City will be re-established at a new location, along with completing procedures on detailed planning, compensation for site clearance and infrastructure investment according to regulations; basically completing the technical infrastructure of Dong Thap border gate economic zone and sub-border gates to serve the development of industry, small-scale industry, border trade, etc.
In recent times, Dong Thap's industry and trade sector has encouraged the development of modern retail types, convenience stores, focusing on the synchronous development of the border market system, border gate markets, and markets in border gate economic zones. Up to now, the border area has 1 supermarket, 31 markets, 6 convenience stores in operation... Thereby, promoting the economic advantages of the province's border gates to develop the socio-economy and export goods, industry in the border area...
