Yen Bai Industry and Trade Sector Maintains Stable Growth in the First 5 Months of 2025

Yen Bai continues to record many positive signals in industrial and commercial development after the first 5 months of 2025. According to the report of the Department of Industry and Trade, all growth targets have been achieved and exceeded the set scenario, clearly demonstrating the effectiveness of the implementation of Action Program No. 246-CTr/TU of the Provincial Party Committee and Program 02/CTr-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee.

By the end of May, the province's industrial production value was estimated at VND8,133 billion, up 12.46% over the same period, equal to 105.4% of the growth scenario of 8.2% and close to the high growth scenario of 10.5%. The industrial production index increased by 10.88%, showing a clear recovery in many key production sectors such as wood processing, tea, plastics and chemical products.

Meanwhile, total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue reached VND14,106 billion, up 21% over the same period. Export turnover also increased by 26%, reaching USD203.8 million, equivalent to 40.76% of the annual plan. These figures show that the domestic and export markets are being actively strengthened, thanks to a series of trade promotion activities, stimulating consumption, especially cashless markets and regional specialty fairs.

A bright spot in state management is the strengthening of inspection and handling of violations. The provincial Market Management Department has handled 88 violations, collecting more than 1.19 billion VND for the budget. Electrical safety inspection, fire prevention and fighting, and mineral management activities have also been carried out synchronously, contributing to improving the effectiveness of supervision and ensuring safety in production.

Wood processing industry has a high production index compared to the same period.

In addition, the provincial industry and trade sector has actively implemented key projects such as the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen line, providing rural electricity to communes without electricity, developing model market regulations, promoting the establishment of new industrial clusters and supporting businesses in digital transformation and e-commerce applications.

The targets for June and the second quarter are quite ambitious, with an estimated industrial production value of VND10,050 billion; total retail sales of goods of VND17,150 billion; and export turnover of USD250 million. To realize this goal, the industry and trade sector will continue to implement solutions to develop commercial infrastructure, support industrial production, accelerate the progress of investment projects and effectively implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW on digital transformation and innovation.
