The ASEAN Cultural Friendship Festival, "Colors of ASEAN," was held from August 29th to September 1st at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, featuring diverse activities and the participation of many famous artists.
Speaking at the press conference, HAUFO's Standing Vice President Tran Thi Phuong said that the "ASEAN Colors" Friendship Cultural Festival is taking place to commemorate the 57th anniversary of ASEAN's founding, the 79th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd, the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi, and the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being honored by UNESCO as a "City for Peace ".
The event, organized by HAUFO in collaboration with the Lao Embassy (the ASEAN rotating chair in 2024) and the embassies of ASEAN member states in Vietnam, will take place from August 29 to September 1 at Doan Mon Square, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hanoi.
Lasting four days, the festival includes numerous activities promoting international cultural exchange to strengthen friendship between the people of Hanoi and the people of ASEAN member countries in particular, and international friends in general. The program also aims to promote the image, country, people, and cultural identity of ASEAN member countries through cultural and artistic exchanges and photo exhibitions...

This is also an opportunity for ASEAN countries and businesses to showcase their handicrafts and traditional products.
The ASEAN Friendship Cultural Festival experience space will include: 57 creative booths from Vietnam and ASEAN, souvenirs for young people and families (children drawing, coloring, building with Lego, making traditional toys, papier-mâché masks, bamboo dragonflies, making kites, etc.), traditional consumer and fashion products from various countries; 70 "Street Flavors" booths; 79 "Village Flavors" booths...
In addition, the festival also includes other activities such as: a photo exhibition "Colors of ASEAN Culture"; amateur art exchanges by staff from embassies and foreign students; a fashion show featuring costumes from ASEAN countries; a performance of the contemporary musical Pinocchio 2024; a children's music and dance festival and children's fashion show; and a drawing competition "I Love Hanoi, the City for Peace" for international and Vietnamese children.
Lao Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam Latana Siharaj stated that during its year as ASEAN Chair, the Lao Embassy in Vietnam has coordinated many meaningful activities to promote solidarity and friendship within ASEAN. Deputy Ambassador Latana Siharaj expressed confidence that the "ASEAN Colors" event will be a great success.
