Thanks to her smooth voice and skillful performance on the đàn kim, Meritorious Artist Kieu My has achieved many great achievements at several major festivals and competitions on Don ca tai tu. The most impressive of these are the three gold medals for solo performance on the đàn kim in the regional and national festivals of Don ca tai tu in the South in 2004, 2006 and 2007.

She continued to study with Meritorious Artist Ba Tu, who helped her perfect her zither playing, from solo and ensemble playing styles to the techniques of running words, splitting rhythms and emphasizing tones. Thanks to that, Meritorious Artist Kieu My's zither playing became increasingly skillful and expressive.

In particular, when performing vọng cổ, she carefully crafted each word and each tone, making the song more emotional. Many people believe that her playing is both slow and gentle, yet soft and soulful... easily creating emotions for the artist to express their feelings through the lyrics of the song.

Some of her students have become famous, including artist Bui Trung Dang (Golden Bell of Traditional Music in 2010).

The funeral of Meritorious Artist Kieu My will be held at her private home: 38 Phan Dinh Giot, Chanh Phu Hoa Ward, Thu Dau Mot, Binh Duong; on December 17, she will be buried at Chanh Phu Hoa Park.
