On the morning of August 19th, the price of SJC gold bars was maintained by SJC, PNJ, and DOJI companies at 124 million VND/ounce for buying and 125 million VND/ounce for selling, stable compared to the end of yesterday and at its highest level in history.
Notably, the difference between the buying and selling price of SJC gold bars has narrowed to just 1 million VND/ounce, reflecting businesses accepting lower profit margins to stimulate demand for selling from the public.
In the free market, some small shops are trading SJC gold bars at a higher price, around 124.8 million VND/ounce for buying and 125.7 million VND/ounce for selling, stable compared to yesterday.
The price of SJC gold bars in the free market is approaching a new peak, nearing 126 million VND/ounce, higher than the prices at major gold companies and banks.

SJC gold bar prices remain at historical highs.
Similarly, the price of 99.99% pure gold rings and jewelry remained high, with businesses trading around 117 million VND/ounce for buying and 119.5 million VND/ounce for selling.
SJC gold bar prices are 18.6 million VND/ounce higher than world prices.
Domestic gold prices remain high despite a cooling global price. On the international market, gold is trading at $3,334 per ounce today, down about $10 per ounce compared to yesterday.
Global gold prices are unlikely to break through in the short term due to a lack of supporting factors. The price of the precious metal is falling as the US dollar strengthens again in the international market. The US dollar index (DXY) is currently trading at 98.2 points, up from 97.8 points in the previous session.
Domestic gold prices have risen rapidly and remained higher than world prices, widening the price gap. Currently, the world gold price, converted at the listed exchange rate, is approximately 106.4 million VND/ounce, which is about 18.6 million VND/ounce lower than the price of SJC gold bars.
According to several gold companies, the scarcity of supply has caused the price of SJC gold bars to increasingly diverge from world prices. Although the price of gold bars remains at historical highs, very few people are selling gold, while demand remains consistently high.
