Building Ho Chi Minh City as a leading center for jewelry training, manufacturing and trading

Ho Chi Minh City Jewelry and Gemstone Association (SJA) has just held its first extraordinary congress.

This is a historic milestone not only for this Association, but also for the entire gold, silver, and gemstone industry in Ho Chi Minh City in the context of the City moving to a new administrative structure after merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau .

The consolidation of administrative boundaries has led to the need to synchronise standards and techniques across the industry. This requires SJA to promote the standardisation of goldsmith skills, improve training quality and create similarities in skills between localities.

In addition, synchronizing the inspection system and technical standards has also become an urgent requirement to suit the common management space, reduce differences between localities and facilitate cross-regional business operations.

In the new phase, SJA aims to strengthen international cooperation, update advanced manufacturing techniques and expand market opportunities for small and medium enterprises. At the same time, the Association aims to build the image of Ho Chi Minh City as a leading center for jewelry training, manufacturing and trading in the Southern economic region.

Support members to adapt to new development trends of the jewelry industry

This congress is also an opportunity to summarize the 30-year journey of formation and development of SJA - from the cradle of traditional handicrafts to the important role of a bridge between businesses, artisans and management agencies, thereby contributing to promoting vocational standardization, human resource training and promoting international trade.

During the 2021 - 2026 term, SJA has achieved many remarkable results, clearly demonstrated through the number of newly recognized artisans, trained human resources, established branches and volunteer activities spreading throughout the community.

As a focal organization, SJA is expected to represent the common voice of the business and artisan community, contributing to shaping policies and supporting members to adapt to new development trends of the industry.
