BRAZIL - Cristina Leite, 51, will compete in the Miss Universe Brazil 2025 final on February 13th. The beauty queen nearly lost her life after falling down the stairs, suffering a fractured skull and a 10-day coma.

On February 8th, the Miss Rondonia organization officially announced that Cristina Leite will represent the state at the Miss Universe Brazil 2025 competition. This news immediately caused a stir, as Cristina is 51 years old – making her the oldest contestant in the history of the competition.

Cristina Leite, who is 1.73m tall, is currently a dentist, model, and popular speaker in her hometown.

Sharing her reasons for participating in the competition, she said: "Older women are not invisible. We know who we are, what we have, and what we deserve."

Cristina has 25 years of experience as a dentist and has also taught in Brazil and internationally. However, after many years in the profession, she felt stifled and decided to pursue a modeling career, seeking opportunities in the fashion industry.

Despite being 51 years old, Cristina always exudes confidence, optimism, and a zest for life. Her beauty remains fresh and youthful, with delicate features.

In 2019, Cristina nearly lost her life after falling down the stairs, fracturing her skull, falling into a coma for 10 days, and spending another 20 days in the hospital recovering. "Surviving that fall was a miracle," she shared.

Currently, Cristina is paralyzed on the left side of her face and has lost her sense of taste. Despite this, she always maintains an optimistic spirit.

Cristina enjoys taking walks, chatting, and traveling with friends and family.

Cristina's philosophy of life: "At the beginning of your journey, they won't believe in you. Midway through, they'll ignore you. And even when you're at the top, they'll still criticize you. So always believe in yourself."
