This is the first airline at Da Nang International Airport to offer this service. Accordingly, Starlux Airlines' self-check-in counter at Terminal 2 allows passengers to quickly and conveniently check in their luggage themselves.
Passengers can easily print tags on the touchscreen, then attach them to their luggage and place it on the conveyor belt. The system automatically transports the luggage to the security area and onward to the aircraft.
In addition, the Passenger Assistant Team (PAT) is always available around the self-check-in area to assist passengers throughout the check-in process.
Mr. Elvis Chao, Head Representative of Starlux Airlines in Da Nang, said that Da Nang International Airport is the first terminal in Vietnam where the airline has implemented an automated baggage drop-off system. This will help travelers shorten check-in time by 15-20 minutes, enhance the passenger experience, help reduce congestion during peak hours, and ensure smooth traffic flow.
It is known that Terminal 2 had previously implemented systems such as self-check-in kiosks, autogates, and self-boarding gates. The integration of a self-service baggage drop-off system at Terminal 2 allows passengers to utilize fully automated services from check-in, baggage drop-off, immigration, and boarding.
As a result, the check-in process is significantly shortened, the passenger experience is enhanced, and the efficiency of station services during peak hours is improved, ensuring smooth traffic flow.
