Recently, on social networks, images of a meal priced at 135,000 VND were spread, said to be sold by a restaurant in Nghe An to electricity officials and employees.

The Facebook account owner posted a photo with the caption: “In the past few days, electricity officials and employees have been working hard day and night to overcome the consequences of storms and floods in Vinh City (old). And here is a 135,000 VND meal.

Normally, if calculated according to market price, eating out, this portion is only about 30,000 - 40,000 VND. Meanwhile, this restaurant orders hundreds of portions.

The accompanying photo shows the meal consisting of only white rice, stir-fried cabbage, some braised pork and 2 pieces of ham. This information immediately attracted attention and caused controversy on social networks.

Speaking with VietNamNet reporter, leader of Nghe An Electricity Company confirmed that the above meal was ordered by the unit at Thuy L. restaurant (Vinh Phu ward, Nghe An).

According to the leader, in the past few days, storm No. 5 has caused heavy damage to the electricity industry, causing many electric poles to fall and the power grid system to be seriously damaged. The unit must mobilize maximum personnel to fix the problem and restore power to the people as soon as possible.

"Nghe An Electricity Company ordered meals to support the shock team and the company's forces working at the scene. The entire cost of the meals came from the company's food budget. The company did not limit the specific amount of money for the meal.

We will re-examine this incident," said the leader of Nghe An Electricity Company.

Regarding this incident, Thuy L. restaurant spoke up and confirmed that Nghe An Electricity Company had contracted with the restaurant to order each meal at the price of 135,000 VND and to eat for 2 days (August 26 and 27). About 200 meals per day.

However, on August 26, the restaurant went to the market and was short of food, so there were not enough portions to sell each meal for 135,000 VND. "My wife went to the market but the market was out of food, so we cooked meals with small portions.

Because there was little food, we informed the electricity company that the meal on August 26 would not be charged and they would eat for free. As for August 27, we will still charge as usual," the restaurant representative announced.

The restaurant also emphasized: “Before selling a meal for 135,000 VND, we had clearly agreed on the price with the electricity company. If they agreed to buy, we would sell. The restaurant did not just raise the price after selling.

The meal posted online is a free meal. I hope everyone understands and does not affect the restaurant.”

Thuy L. restaurant added that the unit is currently reviewing and checking the information posted on social networks.
