According to CNN, throughout his decades-long career, Giorgio Armani is considered the one who shaped the Italian-inspired fashion style and contributed to elevating Hollywood red carpets.
In a statement, the Giorgio Armani Group wrote: "Mr. Giorgio Armani - the respectful and admiring way that his employees and colleagues always called him - passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He was a constant source of motivation for us."
The Armani family and team also shared: "In this company, we have always felt like a family. Today, with deep emotion, we feel the great void left by the man who founded and nurtured this family with vision, passion and dedication.
It is in that spirit that we pledge to protect what he built and continue to move the company forward with respect, responsibility and love."
The group said it would open a memorial room in Milan this weekend. The funeral will be held privately, with a date yet to be announced.

Giorgio Armani's massive fashion legacy
Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani has been battling health issues for some time. He did not appear on the catwalk at Milan Men's Fashion Week in June, the first time he has been absent in a career that is known for overseeing every detail, from promotions to styling models' hair before they walk the runway.
In today's luxury market dominated by large corporations such as LVMH (owner of Louis Vuitton) or Kering (parent company of Gucci), Giorgio Armani is one of the few designers who still retains full ownership of his brand.
To date, the company has no clear heir. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, the value of the Giorgio Armani Group in 2024 is estimated at between 8 and 10 billion euros.

Giorgio Armani was born in 1934 in Piacenza, a town in northern Italy. He did not initially pursue fashion, but studied medicine and served in the army. In 1957, he worked as a window dresser at La Rinascente, a long-standing department store in Milan. This job opened a lifelong bond between Giorgio Armani and the Italian fashion capital.
Over the years, Giorgio Armani expanded his empire with new product lines: Emporio Armani, Armani Jeans, Armani Exchange, and the Armani/Casa furniture brand.
In 2011, he opened a block-long Armani complex in central Milan. In addition to showcasing a wide range of products - from chocolates, flowers, jewelry, cosmetics - it also has a nightclub and a luxury hotel. A year earlier, the Armani Hotel Dubai opened in the world's tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa.

Giorgio Armani’s influence on fashion remains strong today. His simplicity and precision in tailoring give his designs longevity.
During his career, Giorgio Armani received many noble honors: in 2021, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic with the rank of Grand Officer - one of the country's highest awards.
He also received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. In addition, in 2002, Armani was appointed a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
