The clip has attracted more than 1.2 million views and tens of thousands of interactions. In the comments section, netizens are buzzing, wondering whether the restaurant owner will seek compensation from the female employee.
Mr. Vu Nang Tung (28 years old, from Thai Binh province) said the incident happened at around 10:00 a.m. on February 7, at his milk tea shop in District 8 (HCMC).
According to Mr. Tung, the incident happened on the first day of probation for the female employee in the clip.
"I instructed her to prepare lemon to make milk tea. She had just done it for more than an hour when she suddenly became dizzy and fainted, causing the milk tea cabinet to fall over. At that time, only my mother was downstairs. She couldn't react in time, so she couldn't hold her and could only help her up," said Mr. Tung.
Immediately after, he and his mother gave the female employee sugar water and called relatives to pick her up. The milk tea shop owner shared that he had to temporarily stop selling that day to take the refrigerator to get repaired. The repair cost several million VND, all of which he paid for.
"He didn't do it on purpose, so there's no reason for me to make him pay. I moved from the countryside to the city to start a business 3 years ago, and spent 1 year working as a truck driver, working for someone else, so I understand the hardships of current employees even more. A broken cabinet can be fixed, but human health is very important," Mr. Tung confided.
After the male restaurant owner shared his thoughts, many people expressed their praise for his "contradictory" reaction.
"Before, I also worked as an employee at a coffee shop. Because I was still a student and didn't have much experience, I often broke the shop's cups. Sometimes, the money to pay for broken cups was more than my daily salary. Seeing the owner's actions, I was very touched," commented TBG account.
