The last section of Liem An village road borders the inter-commune road.

The main road of Liem An village, Hong Son commune, has its starting point from National Highway 1A and ends at an inter-commune route. Previously, this route had not been built, leading straight to Chau Ta - 812 canal. In 2015, the local government concreted the first section of the road, leaving the last section more than 400 m long.

This section has now seriously degraded, with numerous potholes, muddy in the rainy season and dusty in the dry season. Many people have fallen while avoiding agricultural vehicles and slippery roads. Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Luong, group 1, Liem An village shared: “This section of road is very unsafe for traffic, we women can fall if we are not careful, the most frightening thing is during the rainy season. In fact, many parents have fallen while taking their children to school. The continuous rain in the past few days has made the flooded road even more difficult to travel.”

Faced with this situation, people have petitioned all levels and sectors. Last year, when the administrative units at all levels had not yet been merged, the old local government paid attention to recording investment capital, but now that the merger has taken place, everything seems to have stopped, making people worried. Many people are worried and saying to each other: When will the new road be concreted?

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Chin - Head of Liem An village, who reported this situation to the Commune People's Committee, said that the whole village has 719 households, with more than 3,000 people, mainly farming. In 2015, the government paid attention to concreting the backbone road of the village, and the people were very happy. But there is still a section that has not been concretized, significantly affecting people's travel. "Up to now, this road section has seriously degraded due to the circulation of large vehicles such as plows, tractors, etc., the road is always flooded. People have continuously reported to us and in meetings with voters. In 2024, the old commune government planned to continue to build the remaining road section, but then got stuck in the merger so it stopped. Recently, the Hong Son commune government has deployed a review of all unfinished projects in the commune, I have proposed that the commune build this road," Mr. Chin added.

In addition to this “painful” road section, there is also a tunnel section of the North-South Expressway that has also deteriorated and is always flooded. People also hope that the local government will pay attention to repairing and upgrading the damaged, flooded and unsightly roads in the village.

Mr. Le Minh Luan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Son commune said that the locality will re-survey all rural traffic works in the commune. Then, measures will be taken to remove unfinished works according to the plan. Because recently, the commune has focused on post-merger consolidation tasks, more urgent work such as organizing the commune-level party congress... so other tasks have not been resolved and are now being implemented.
