Many activities at the 4th Dong Thap Province Book and Reading Culture Day

DTO - On the evening of April 18, at the Provincial Library, the Provincial People's Committee held the opening ceremony of the 4th Book and Reading Culture Day of Dong Thap province - 2025. Attending were comrade Huynh Thi Hoai Thu - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; former provincial leaders; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, socio-political organizations of the province, the Provincial Historical Science Association, the Provincial Education Promotion Association; People's Committees of districts, cities, sponsoring units, publishing houses; lecturers, teachers, students of universities, colleges, and high schools in the province.

With the theme "Reading - enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity", the 4th Dong Thap Province Book and Reading Culture Day - 2025 took place from April 18 to 21, with many activities held at the Provincial Library such as: art program to celebrate Book Day; "book display space - artistic book arrangement" contest; organizing thematic talks on Book and Reading Culture Day; author exchanges, work introductions; exhibitions and displays of Red-crowned Cranes, children's paintings...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Huynh Thi Hoai Thu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized that the 4th Dong Thap Province Book and Reading Culture Day - 2025 is an extremely important event, marking a new step forward in encouraging and spreading reading culture to everyone, especially the young generation. This is an opportunity to honor the invaluable values that books bring, an opportunity for everyone to better understand the role of reading in life. Comrade Huynh Thi Hoai Thu hopes that everyone will continue to pay attention to and share good books to serve the community. At the same time, she believes that reading activities will be actively responded to by people and the spread of the 4th Dong Thap Province Book and Reading Culture Day - 2025 will contribute significantly to building the culture and people of Dong Thap with affection, dynamism and creativity.

Comrade Ngo Thanh Tri - Deputy Director of Dong Thap Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. (right) presented a symbolic plaque to donate 10 "Bookcases for Encouragement of Learning" to the representative of the Nguyen Sinh Sac Education Encouragement Fund Mobilization Board.

On the occasion of the 4th Dong Thap Province Book and Reading Culture Day - 2025, Comrade Le Minh Hoan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee sent a congratulatory letter and donated books to the Provincial Library. Many companies and units have accompanied and sponsored 22 "Learning Promotion Bookcases" with a total value of 220 million VND to give to localities in the province.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented gifts and commended 18 individuals who won the Final Round prizes at the Reading Culture Ambassador Competitions from 2019 to present, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
