On the morning of October 30, due to prolonged heavy rain causing flooding in many areas, a number of schools in Lam Dong province urgently announced that students would temporarily stay home from school to ensure safety.
Due to prolonged heavy rains, some communes such as Ham Thang, Ham Thuan, Ham Liem, Ham Kiem, Tuyen Quang... experienced localized flooding, affecting the travel of students and teachers. According to the document, the rainfall is forecast to increase sharply. Heavy rain causes flooding, with a high risk of flash floods, landslides and widespread flooding, especially in areas with steep terrain and weak soil.

To proactively respond, minimize damage and ensure safety for people and property at educational institutions, the Department of Education and Training recommends that heads of educational institutions closely monitor the developments of rain and floods; maintain regular contact with authorities and local rescue forces to promptly respond in case of incidents.
Educational institutions need to be proactive and ready with plans for online learning, and for students to stay home from school during rainy and complicated flood days. At the same time, urgently develop plans to repair and reinforce structures at risk of being unsafe; coordinate with specialized units to trim the green tree system in schools, check the sewer system, and the power grid to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and administrators before floods occur.
Along with that, prepare plans to evacuate students and teachers to safe places; move documents and equipment before flooding occurs; proactively coordinate with local authorities to receive support in terms of expertise, materials and equipment when situations arise.

At the same time, promptly repair damage, clean and sanitize schools and classrooms immediately after rain and floods to ensure safety, cleanliness and prevent epidemics in the unit. Heads of educational institutions arrange plans for make-up classes, supplement knowledge, and ensure the program and plan of the school year.
