On October 30, information from the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province said that this unit has just sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of communes and wards about not assigning homework to primary school students.

The document clearly stated that, in recent times, with the attention and direction of authorities at all levels, most primary schools and schools with primary classes have seriously implemented directives, guidance documents, and current regulations on extra teaching and learning, implementing the 2018 Primary Education Program, on selecting and using textbooks, reference materials, and assigning homework to students...

These efforts have been recognized and highly appreciated by parents and society. However, there are still some schools and teachers who have not followed the regulations, including the assignment of homework to primary school students.

To promptly rectify the above situation, the Department of Education and Training requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to direct schools in the area to strictly implement the directives and instructions of superiors and current regulations on extra teaching and learning, implementation of the 2018 General Education Program at the primary level, and selection and use of textbooks and reference materials.

At the same time, continue to improve the quality of teaching 2 sessions/day, teachers are responsible for organizing and guiding students to complete learning tasks right in class, ensuring students learn easily, enthusiastically and effectively. Absolutely do not assign homework to students who have been taught 2 sessions/day by the school.

The provincial Department of Education and Training requires school principals to be responsible before the People's Committees of communes and wards if teachers violate current regulations on extra teaching and learning, on implementing the 2018 General Education Program at primary level, on selecting and using textbooks and reference materials, especially assigning homework to students; regularly inspect, monitor and remind teachers to strictly implement the regulations.
