Many train pairs continue to stop running due to floods in the Central region

The railway industry announced that it will continue to suspend some train lines in the coming days due to the impact of floods in the Central region, causing railways to be inundated and unsafe for train operations.

Specifically, on October 30, trains SE1, SE5/6, SE7/8, SE9/10, SE19/20, HD1/2/3/4 will stop running; on October 31, trains HD1/2/3/4, SE9/10 will stop running; on November 1, trains SE9/10 will stop running; on November 2, trains SE9/10 will stop running.

Other trains are organized to transfer from Dong Ha station ( Quang Ngai province) to Huong Thuy station (Hue city).

The railway industry has announced that the notification has been sent via SMS and Zalo system; passengers should check their phone messages for updated information.

The railway industry said that passengers with tickets for trains that have stopped running can return their tickets free of charge at the railway station, within 30 days from the date of departure stated on the ticket.

Currently, the Vietnam Railway Authority and Vietnam Railway Corporation are directing units to strictly implement the patrol and guard regime for key works, locations, and key areas such as: weak bridges and roads, vulnerable to flooding; steep mountain passes, areas prone to flash floods, falling rocks, landslides, railway areas downstream of dikes, irrigation dams, reservoirs... ready to proactively respond promptly when incidents occur, ensuring absolute safety for people and vehicles.

Vietnam Railways Corporation also directed units to concentrate vehicles, materials, equipment and human resources to overcome the consequences of floods and ensure smooth traffic in the fastest time; at the same time, have plans to stop trains, stretch trains, increase trains, and transfer passengers when floods cause flooding and landslides in sections where trains must stop.
