Pipelines along streams and creeks were washed away and damaged, making them very difficult to repair.

Water problem

The impact of the recent floods has caused some pipelines in many areas to be washed away by water, dams have been blocked, and raw water cannot be brought to the factory for treatment. Deep flooding and large flows also affect access to the incident points for repair. Power outages at some factories have also greatly affected the continuous water supply to the people.

In particular, power outages at some factories such as Loc An, Phong Thu, Nam Dong, Thuong Long, Binh Dien made the factory operation difficult. Most factories had to operate backup generators continuously to ensure water supply for people.

High water, strong currents, many pipelines had problems such as: D150 pipeline at Le No bridge, D110 at Huong Xuan village; D110 at Phu Nhuan village, Nam Dong commune; D63 at KanZai spillway, Doi village, Thuong Lo had pipes washed across the stream. Some pipelines were broken and washed away such as: D50 at Mango tree bridge, D63 under Xuan Phu - Khe Tre bridge; Xuan Phu - Khe Tre waterfall sliding hamlet... greatly affecting the water supply for the people.

The water supply system is deeply flooded, greatly affecting the water supply.

On the morning of October 29, some roads in the city's central wards also recorded water loss, HueWACO is mobilizing forces to fix the broken pipe problem.

In addition, the power outage at the company office and the interruption of the internet connection affected the operation of the server, the parameters for monitoring pressure and water flow. Of the total 108 monitoring points, 36 had stable signal transmission, with an average pressure of over 1.5 bar (33%); 72 measuring points lost connection (67%), including: 67 points due to the Company's server losing internet connection, 5 points with unknown causes. The Call-Center from October 26 to October 28, 2025 also recorded 27 feedbacks from people focusing on continuous water supply groups (water loss, weak water), water loss and water quality.

Efforts to ensure water supply

Factory workers handle water supply problems

Prolonged heavy rains have seriously affected the water supply system in many areas. The flood level on the Huong River peaked at 5.05m, 1.55m higher than the alarm level III. Many water plants of HueWACO were deeply flooded, at the same time, the power grid system in many low-lying areas was cut off, creating great pressure on water supply operations. HueWACO has activated a safe water supply plan, mobilized more than 500 officers and employees to monitor rainfall and flood levels to proactively respond to all situations; arranged human and material resources at all plants and pumping stations, ready to overcome incidents, ensuring clean water supply for people during heavy floods.

According to HueWACO leaders, the company strictly implements the motto "4 on-site, 3 ready" (on-site command, on-site materials and equipment, on-site forces; 3 ready includes proactive prevention, timely response, urgent and effective recovery). All factories prepare adequate supplies and chemicals, ensure 100% of backup generators operate well, maintain stable water supply even when the grid is down. HueWACO Customer Care Center operates continuously during stormy days to receive and handle water complaints in order to promptly resolve and ensure stable water supply for customers.

The floods have caused the turbidity, iron, manganese and organic matter content in raw water to increase many times higher than normal. To ensure safety, factories have increased treatment with activated carbon, PAC, Javen. At the same time, they have increased human resources, increased the frequency of inspection, and strictly monitored water samples at the treatment stages. The entire system is monitored 24/7, ensuring that the quality of water after treatment meets and exceeds the standards of the Ministry of Health before supplying to the people.

At the factories, HueWACO proactively arranged backup water tanks, ready to be used in case of local water outages, to ensure that people still have clean water during storms. For isolated areas or where the backup power source is not of sufficient capacity, the company proactively deployed plans to mobilize tankers and temporarily supply water, minimizing the interruption of water supply, affecting people's daily lives.

The factory monitoring and operating team operates continuously.

Despite many efforts and initiatives, some areas still have raw water problems, low-lying areas have to remove booster pumps, areas have pipeline network problems, some areas have low pressure and the cause has not been checked due to flooding... so some areas have unstable water supply, some mountainous areas have had water cut off. HueWACO still cannot ensure continuous water supply as in normal conditions and is making efforts to quickly fix the problems and ensure water supply for people.
