Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his pleasure at meeting the Secretary General of the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association and members of the Association’s Executive Board; and thanked the Brazilian people for their solidarity and support for Vietnam during the struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as in the current process of national construction and development.
The Prime Minister affirmed that after more than 34 years, the Vietnam - Brazil relationship has continuously developed, with the efforts of the two countries and peoples, and the contribution of the Brazil - Vietnam Friendship Association.
However, according to the Prime Minister, there is still a lot of room for cooperation between the two countries. In the upcoming talks between the Prime Minister and the President of Brazil, on the basis of good political relations, the two sides will discuss solutions to continue promoting cooperation in all fields.

The Prime Minister suggested that the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Associations continue to promote delegation exchanges; promote people-to-people exchanges, cultural, educational, and sports exchanges, especially football and tourism; have more initiatives and stronger activities to promote cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Pedro de Olivera, Secretary General of the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association and members of the Association thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for taking the time to receive the delegation; said that within the flow of friendship between the two countries, the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association has close relations with the Vietnam-Brazil Friendship Association and has contributed to fostering the relationship between the two countries.
The Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association is constantly growing, has established branches in localities in Brazil; has many practical contributions to the relationship between the two countries such as compiling and publishing a dictionary on the Portuguese-Vietnamese topic...
Members of the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association expressed their admiration for Vietnam’s struggle for independence as well as its current socio-economic development and economic integration; Vietnam’s efforts and successes have been a strong inspiration for justice, peace and development around the world; affirmed that they will continue to promote the bilateral relationship to become more substantive and effective, especially in the fields of trade-investment, agriculture, food processing, etc.

Reiterating that there is still a lot of room for Vietnam-Brazil relations, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association will support Brazil and Vietnam in negotiating and signing multilateral and bilateral free trade agreements, investment protection agreements, double taxation avoidance agreements, etc. to promote economic cooperation between the two countries; contributing to bringing the relationship between the two countries to a new height, benefiting each country, each people, and for peace, cooperation, friendship and development in the region and the world.
* On this occasion, the Secretary General presented Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh with the book "President Ho Chi Minh - The life and career of the national liberation leader" compiled by himself. In return, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented Mr. Pedro de Olivera with a painting of a bamboo tree, symbolizing the image of Vietnam and Vietnam's diplomatic policy as General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong pointed out.
