Taro plants are bringing in good income for farmers.

Many farmers in Long Ho and Mang Thit districts are excited because the price of taro has been quite high for many months. After deducting production costs, farmers earn a profit of more than 100 million VND/ha.

Thanh Duc Commune (Long Ho) and Long My Commune (Mang Thit) are two localities with large areas of taro cultivation in the province. Currently, the selling price at the field is 13,000 VND/kg, about 4,000 VND/kg higher than last year.

Not only is the price high, but the yield of this year's taro crop also reached nearly 20 tons/ha. Taro farmers said that intercropping taro with rice is a model that brings high economic efficiency. It takes 8 months from planting taro to harvesting.
