Efficient production models
Truong Ha commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Truong Ha commune (old), Soc Ha, Quy Quan, Xuan Hoa town, Ha Quang district (old). The commune has an area of over 143 km2, a population of nearly 12,800 people belonging to five main ethnic groups including Tay, Nung, H'Mong, Dao, Kinh. Of which, ethnic minorities account for more than 98%. According to the commune's report, the locality has 19 cooperatives, stable and effective production and business units, creating jobs for more than 130 workers. Business entities own six 3-star OCOP products including: Black pork sausage, Luc Khu red peanuts, Bao Hung chicken eggs, Pac Bo sturgeon, Pa Me sausage, Pac Bo Homestay. Chairman of the People’s Committee of the commune, Luu Trong Chinh, said that the production and business sectors have promoted the potential for developing high-tech agriculture, tourism , trade and services. Many families have boldly invested in greenhouses, net houses, raising sturgeon, growing melons, etc., generating income of hundreds of millions to billions of dong each year.
In Truong Ha commune, farmer Nguyen Van Cong is the leader in learning and applying techniques, taking advantage of local stream water sources, borrowing investment capital, and developing sturgeon farming. Starting his business in 2017, by 2020, Mr. Cong continued to invest in building more tanks and expanding the aquaculture area. Up to now, his family owns 10 fish tanks of all kinds; each year, he harvests two crops of sturgeon, with a total output of about seven tons of commercial fish at a selling price of 250,000 VND/kg, earning more than one billion VND. In addition to raising fish, he also invested in building 2,500 m2 of net houses to grow melons and baby cucumbers, harvesting about 18 tons/year, earning about 400 million VND/year. The family's total income from high agricultural production reaches nearly 2 billion VND/year, creating jobs for four regular workers and six seasonal workers.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Cong, with the same area of land, if learning, investing, and successfully applying science and technology in farming will bring income and profit many times higher than traditional farming methods. This is the main direction in agricultural development and new rural construction in localities.
Efforts to build new rural areas
Comrade Duong Mac Kien, Party Secretary of Truong Ha commune, said that in order to effectively exploit potentials and strengths, gradually improve people's material and spiritual life, and build new rural areas, the Party Committee of the commune has built two key programs and three breakthrough contents. In particular, the focus is determined to include: Improving the quality of agricultural products associated with building product brands in the area; developing commune tourism associated with preserving and promoting the revolutionary homeland tradition and local cultural identity.
According to Mr. Dam Nong Chap, Ban Hoang hamlet, Truong Ha commune, people's houses are spacious, their lives are stable and prosperous, their children are well taken care of and have a full education... are the foundation for people to be willing to contribute and participate in building new rural areas, contributing to the comprehensive and sustainable development of the locality.
To effectively implement the set goals and development orientations, the commune focuses on breakthroughs: Building a team of cadres with qualities, prestige, capacity and qualifications to meet the requirements of the tasks; developing e-government towards digital government and digital society in the area; developing tourism services to meet the requirements of creating breakthroughs in exploiting the potential and strengths of the locality; prioritizing changing people's awareness of tourism services, and perfecting traffic infrastructure.
Implementing the national target program on new rural construction, in recent times, Truong Ha has maintained and improved the quality of the achieved criteria, maintained the quality of building model rural residential areas in two hamlets Na Ma and Hoa Muc. At the same time, continued to build six hamlets Soc Giang, Coc Vuong, Na Sac, Dia Long, Ban Lap, Na Po to meet new rural standards to create motivation and draw lessons from experience in building new rural areas in the remaining difficult hamlets.
