Author Nguyen Van Anh.
Having loved photography since the subsidy period, he often took pictures of his family and relatives with a film camera; but because of being busy with work, it was not until his retirement that he returned to the joy of artistic photography.
Regarding my relationship with photography, author Nguyen Van Anh said: “Photography gives me many things, first of all, health; then thanks to photography, I have the opportunity to learn more about the land and people of Vietnam; to go to many places, places that I previously thought were impossible to go to. Also thanks to photography, I have broadened my horizons, as well as my knowledge of Cham Pa culture, which I was previously ignorant of; I have more friends, can immerse myself in nature, and am known by people from other fields of expertise… However, in return, I also spend a lot of time and money to nurture this passion. The Cham people have many rituals, which I have not yet fully exploited. In the future, I plan to go deeper, have a better shooting plan, and proactively capture events more closely on these topics, in addition to the topic of tourism , on the occasion of the National Tourism Year held in Binh Thuan”.
Among his works, he is most fond of the photo series about the ordination ceremony of Deputy Master and Lady Bong of the Cham Brahmin people, which are topics that no one has yet exploited.
At the 12th Art Photography Contest (VN23), the work "Afternoon Rain" won the FIAP Silver Medal in the children's category; 2 works: "Today I Entered the Buddhist Order of the Nuns" and "Dovetail Birds Build a Nest" were selected for exhibition. In addition, he was honored to receive the Certificate of Honor from the Japanese international competition The Asahi Shimbun (January 2023); Encouragement Prize from the 47th Ho Chi Minh City Traditional Art Photography Festival in 2022; Encouragement Prize from the photo contest on sustainable conservation of wetlands in Vietnam...
