Mr. Le Duc Thoang holds the position of Chairman of the University Council of Phu Yen University.

On May 27, Phu Yen University held a conference to announce the decision to recognize the Chairman of the University Council for the 2020-2025 term. Attending the conference were comrade Dao My, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

At the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao My presented the decision of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on recognizing Mr. Le Duc Thoang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Phu Yen University, to hold the position of Chairman of the University Council. The Chairman of the University Council will perform the duties and powers according to the Law on HigherEducation and current regulations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao My highly appreciated the capacity and experience of the new Chairman of the Board of Phu Yen University and expected that Mr. Le Duc Thoang, together with the leadership team, will build Phu Yen University to develop in an autonomous, multidisciplinary direction, meeting the labor needs of society. Comrade Dao My also requested Phu Yen University to constantly innovate its thinking in training and enrollment; apply science and technology and digital transformation to promote infrastructure efficiency, worthy of the Central Highlands - Central region and the whole country.

Speaking on accepting his new assignment, Mr. Le Duc Thoang expressed his determination to continue to contribute and accompany the Phu Yen University team to fulfill its mission of training, research and serving the community. At the same time, he will inherit and promote the achievements and results achieved, and successfully complete all assigned tasks.

Mr. Le Duc Thoang was born in 1971 in Dong Hoa town, has a PhD in Mathematics and is a senior political theorist.
