Mr. Luu Van Trung was elected Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Council.

On November 14, the People's Council of Lam Dong province, term X, 2021-2026, held its 5th session.

The delegates approved 9 important contents and elected Mr. Luu Van Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, delegate of the Provincial People's Council as Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.

Previously, on September 3, Mr. Pham Hong Thai, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Council, was appointed by the Prime Minister and received the task of Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

As a result of the voting at the session, Mr. Luu Van Trung was elected as Chairman of the People's Council of Lam Dong province for the 2021-2026 term with 110/112 votes, reaching 98%.

Mr. Luu Van Trung was born on June 16, 1974, Kinh ethnic group, hometown Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province, now Hung Yen province; professional qualifications: Land Management Engineer, Master of Agriculture; Senior in political theory.

Before being appointed as Deputy Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee (new), Mr. Luu Van Trung was Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dak Nong province (old).

At the meeting, delegates reviewed, approved and voted on nine important contents in the fields of finance, budget, public investment, social security and administrative reform.

Specifically, in the field of public finance and resource mobilization for development, there are two important projects: Establishing the Lam Dong Provincial Development Investment Fund to invest in and support essential infrastructure projects, promoting the socialization of investment capital; Establishing the Lam Dong Provincial Land Development Fund to proactively create clean land funds for investment projects, contributing to infrastructure and urban development and increasing revenue for the local budget.

The Provincial People's Council has reviewed and issued a Resolution on transferring 326 positions of mass organizations assigned by the Party and State from the local government sector to the Party and mass organizations sector to be assigned to the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for allocation and assignment of tasks.

The Provincial People's Council considered the Resolution on policies to support the stabilization of life for households of ship owners whose fishing vessels are not qualified to participate in fishing in Lam Dong province in order to eliminate the existence of fishing vessels that are not qualified to be inspected and licensed for fishing, causing difficulties for fisheries management and synchronously, effectively and efficiently implementing the 2017 Fisheries Law and regulations on fishing, contributing to removing the "yellow card" warning of the European Commission...

Mr. K'Mák, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Council, assessed that all the contents presented at this session are of practical significance, directly serving the work of managing socio-economic development, consolidating national defense and security, promoting administrative reform and perfecting the province's public finance mechanism in the coming time./.
