On Petrovietnam 's side, there were Mr. Tran Quang Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Group's Party Committee; Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union; Mr. Le Quang Toan, Vice Chairman of the Group's Veterans Association; representatives of the Group's Youth Union and PVEP Trade Union.
Storm No. 3 (Yagi) and its circulation have caused great damage to state and people's property throughout Thai Nguyen province. As of 3:00 p.m. on September 13, 2024, the total preliminary damage was over 780 billion VND.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang and representatives of the working delegation presented support to the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Nguyen province.
Accordingly, the natural disaster killed 4 people; 3,900 houses had to be urgently evacuated; 68 schools were flooded and affected; 9,000 hectares of rice and crops were damaged and flooded; 795 hectares of fish farms were flooded; over 292,000 livestock and poultry died; 160 traffic routes were eroded; 4 transformer stations were damaged; 113 electric poles were knocked down; 7 cable poles were broken and 3,300 m of wire was broken; many people's properties (cars, motorbikes, electrical appliances, utensils...) were flooded and damaged... In addition, flooded areas after the water receded are at very high risk of environmental pollution and disease outbreaks.
All levels and sectors of Thai Nguyen province have strictly implemented the Prime Minister's direction on responding to storm No. 3; forecasted the situation early, focused on leading, directing, organizing inspections, urging, mobilizing all forces and means to urgently, resolutely, promptly and effectively respond to and overcome natural disaster damage; promptly restored electricity, water, telecommunications systems, medical facilities, schools; operated and regulated reservoirs to ensure safety; organized environmental sanitation forces, and disease prevention. Rain and floods after the storm did not affect production and business activities in industrial parks and clusters in the province.
At the working session with Thai Nguyen province, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang highly appreciated Thai Nguyen's proactive spirit of forecasting and responding to the unusual and complicated developments of storm No. 3 and the floods after the storm. He suggested that the province continue to actively implement measures to overcome the consequences; always be vigilant against natural disasters; immediately fix as soon as possible the damage to traffic infrastructure, place warning signs in places at risk of landslides and dangers; repair affected schools so that students can return to school as soon as possible; focus on handling issues related to the environment, preventing epidemics, and ensuring people's health.

On behalf of the leadership, staff and employees of Petrovietnam, comrade Tran Quang Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Group, shared the losses that the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Nguyen province suffered due to storm No. 3, and at the same time, through the provincial leaders, sent condolences and encouragement to the people in the damaged and heavily flooded areas.
Comrade Tran Quang Dung said that the Group has been calling on all Oil and Gas workers to donate and support, sharing the difficulties of the people in localities that suffered heavy damage due to storms, including Thai Nguyen province. The Group's leaders believe that with the heroic revolutionary tradition, the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Nguyen province will promptly resolve the difficulties and stabilize their lives. On this occasion, Petrovietnam donated 1 billion VND to support people affected by storms and floods in the province.
The delegation visited and encouraged Ms. Cao Thi Nep, 99 years old, mother of a martyr in Dong Bam ward, Thai Nguyen city.
Vice President of Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union Vu Anh Tuan presented gifts to visit and encourage Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, group 14, Tuc Duyen ward, Thai Nguyen city.
Previously, the delegation visited, encouraged and presented gifts to support two families in Thai Nguyen City affected by storm No. 3, including the family of Ms. Cao Thi Nep, 99 years old, mother of a martyr, in Dong residential group, Dong Bam ward and the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, a war invalid, living in group 14, Tuc Duyen ward.
