Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy is the Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of Higher Education, has just been transferred and appointed by the Minister of Education and Training to hold the position of Director of the Department of International Cooperation.

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son has just signed a decision to transfer and appoint Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy to the position of Director of the Department of International Cooperation. The decision takes effect from the date of signing.

Before being transferred and appointed, Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy was Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy was born in 1975, graduated from Foreign Trade University in 1997, graduated with a master's degree from the Vietnam - Netherlands Development Economics Master's Program in 1999, received a master's degree in financial management in the Netherlands in 2004, and a PhD in finance also in the Netherlands in 2008. Ms. Thuy was awarded the title of associate professor in 2012.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy has been a lecturer at Foreign Trade University for more than 20 years, including more than 7 years as head of the business administration department and 3 years as vice principal of the school.

Since March 2019, Ms. Thuy has held the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education, and Acting Director since April 2020.

Ms. Thuy has many years of work and contributions in the field of higher education, many years of experience in university management and administration. During her time working at the Foreign Trade University, she has conducted hundreds of different scientific works, with many international publications.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy has been ranked by REPEC as one of the top economic scientists in Vietnam for many years; is the head of many programs and research topics at all levels, and the director of international research projects. She is also a member of the scientific council of the economics sector of the NAFOSTED Foundation.

During her time working at the Ministry of Education and Training, Ms. Thuy has been contributing to the completion of policies on higher education, promoting university autonomy, building a strategic framework for higher education development, a national qualifications framework (VQF)... in the new period.
