80-year-old man's body found after 1 week missing

On the afternoon of April 29, authorities found the body of Mr. Hoang Thanh (born in 1945), residing in Ward 6, Da Lat City (Lam Dong) after a week of being swept away by floodwaters.

The location where the victim was found is in the border area between Ward 5 and Ward 7, Da Lat City, downstream of Cam Ly stream. This place is about 6km from the location where Mr. Hoang Thanh had the accident on the afternoon of April 23. The victim's body was stuck on a rock, surrounded by dense forest and bushes.

Authorities returned the victim's body to his family for funeral arrangements.

In recent days, the authorities have coordinated with the family and people living along Cam Ly stream to search along both sides of the stream, from the location of the victim's accident towards Ta Nung commune, Da Lat city and Lam Ha district.

Previously, at around 2:40 p.m. on April 23, during heavy rain, the water in To Ngoc Van stream flowing through Da Lat city rose, Mr. Hoang Thanh unfortunately slipped and fell into the stream and was swept away.
