Promoting the role of "bridging" ethnic minority areas

Thai Nguyen province always focuses on caring for and creating conditions for prestigious people among ethnic minorities to promote their role as a trustworthy "bridge" between the Party, the government and the people. Practical policies have helped 2,441 prestigious people become an important and core force in propagating and mobilizing people to implement the Party's policies and the State's laws.

As a prestigious person in Ban Luoc village, Phuc Loc commune, in early 2024, Mr. Nguyen Van Lam was given a smartphone for the first time. This is a support from the National Target Program (MTQG) for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas (MT&MN). Mr. Lam shared: If you want people to believe and follow, you must know in advance, understand clearly to speak correctly. The 4G phone helps me update current information promptly and convey new policies to people.

Not only Mr. Lam, 375 prestigious people in the province have been equipped with smartphones. These devices not only help with quick communication but also effectively support propaganda and mobilization of people to comply with the law, participate in socio-economic development, and promote digital transformation in each hamlet and residential group.

Currently, the province has 2,441 prestigious people with diverse backgrounds, such as: retired officials and civil servants; religious dignitaries; intellectuals; clan leaders, village chiefs, village elders, people knowledgeable about traditional culture, party cell secretaries, party members and good farmers and businessmen... They are the core force helping the grassroots government implement policies and guidelines to the households; contributing to eliminating bad customs, maintaining security and order and building a new life.

From 2021 to present, implementing the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the province has allocated over 20 billion VND for activities to support prestigious people.

From this resource, Thai Nguyen has organized nearly 200 conferences to propagate and disseminate the law to over 5,900 prestigious people; provided information to over 4,500 prestigious people so that they always grasp the policies in a timely manner. Along with that, it has commended and rewarded over 490 prestigious people; organized delegations to visit and learn from experiences; visited and gave gifts on holidays and Tet; supported the construction of model points, organized dramatization competitions, etc.

These activities both motivate and equip people with knowledge and skills to perform their tasks more effectively.

Reality at the grassroots level shows that prestigious people are contributing to spreading many creative ways of doing things. In Tham Roc hamlet, Binh Yen commune, Mr. Ma Quang Nhanh, a prestigious person and also the "soul" of the dry puppetry troupe (a tradition of more than 200 years); has cleverly integrated the content of legal propaganda, new rural construction, forest protection... into lively puppet shows, helping people to easily understand, easily remember, and voluntarily follow.

Lan Quan hamlet, Quang Son commune, where many Mong people live, the prestigious Tran Van Ho spreads the spirit of solidarity through concrete actions. He persistently goes to each household to mobilize and fight against "strange religions", thanks to which the hamlet has no family following an illegal religion. In the construction of new rural areas, he mobilized people to donate hundreds of square meters of land, concretize 1.5 km of inter-hamlet roads and build a standard cultural house.

At the same time, Mr. Tran Van Ho also actively propagates and mobilizes people to apply technical advances in production and build effective economic models. Thanks to his perseverance and the consensus of the people, the rate of poor and near-poor households has decreased from 136 households in 2021 to 72 households by the end of 2024...

From the reality of ethnic minority areas, prestigious people are the core force in many fields: Propagating and mobilizing people to comply with policies and guidelines; contributing to eliminating bad customs, maintaining security and order, preserving and promoting cultural identity; participating in building new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction... Along with the timely attention and support of the province, they have more conditions to promote their role, create consensus among the people and effectively solve many problems right at the grassroots level.

The prestigious people are both propagandists and shining examples, contributing to consolidating the grassroots political system, enhancing national solidarity and creating a foundation for sustainable socio-economic development. The practical and timely policies of the Party, the State and Thai Nguyen province have further motivated prestigious people to continue spreading good values in the community, affirming that the development of ethnic minority areas is always associated with cultural preservation and consensus from the people.
