Looking back at the traditional music genre typical of the South, Associate Professor Dr. Lam Nhan (Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture) said: "Don ca tai tu has a long history of development, closely associated with people's lives, and has been listed by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. However, the current state of preserving Don ca tai tu is facing a number of problems: performance space for this art form is still limited; there are many difficulties in attracting the attention of the public, especially the young people". Although there have been exchange and performance programs to promote Don ca tai tu, the scope of access is still limited and has not created a strong attraction for the young audience. Most of the current artists are elderly. They not only face health difficulties but also face economic pressure, when the income from artistic activities is not enough to cover their living expenses. Associate Professor Dr. Lam Nhan suggested: "To preserve and promote amateur music in Ho Chi Minh City, we believe that there should be synchronous solutions to expand performance spaces, train and attract the younger generation, as well as innovate approaches to suit the tastes of modern audiences."
Many researchers, cultural management agencies and artists attended the program.

Although Ho Chi Minh City is the place with the most vibrant cultural and artistic activities in the country, Dr. Ho Ba Tham, former Director of the National Political Publishing House, Can Tho Branch, member of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, is concerned that in recent years it has been difficult to find good literary and artistic works that have caused a big stir in public opinion, been enthusiastically discussed by readers, and criticized or praised by the press in the city's cultural life. "It is not correct to say that the difficulty lies with the artist. We all know that creation is a personal activity, with a high degree of independence, not a matter of hunger, fullness or having a lot of money to create good creations. Are artists satisfied or are they looking for some kind of leverage? Is it because artists lack experience, lack closeness to the masses, sharing suffering, joy, contemplation, anxiety, excitement, lack of height, breadth, depth of thought to break through thinking, feeling to create great, unique creations that create aftershocks in cultural, literary and artistic life?", Dr. Ho Ba Tham raised the question.
Some opinions say that developing the cultural industry in Ho Chi Minh City is an important and necessary task in the current context, not only to promote cultural development as one of the important pillars of life but also to develop the economy strongly, in the context of entering the era of national development.
