Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung - Head of Group 2 summarizing some theoretical and practical issues on the socialist-oriented reform process in Vietnam over the past 40 years; Professor Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan - Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Standing Member of the Central Steering Committee summarizing some theoretical and practical issues on the socialist-oriented reform process in Vietnam over the past 40 years; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee, Deputy Head of Group 2, chaired the seminar.
Attending the seminar were leaders of the Central Economic Committee, members of the Standing Committee of the Central Theoretical Council, members of Group 2, experts, scientists, etc. Representatives from Hanoi City also included Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and leaders of several departments and agencies of the city.

During the seminar, with heartfelt, objective, and scientific contributions, the delegates highly appreciated the group's preparation of the draft report and generally agreed with its content. The report met the Steering Committee's requirements regarding content, principles, scope, and methods of summarization.
The research findings of the Group have confirmed that the development of a socialist-oriented market economy is a very fundamental and innovative theoretical breakthrough of our Party over 40 years of reform. The development of a socialist-oriented market economy in our country has achieved many successes, bringing about tremendous and very positive changes for the country.

However, the development of the socialist-oriented market economy, alongside its fundamental achievements and positive aspects, also faces numerous limitations and shortcomings, as well as new challenges and difficulties, both theoretically and practically. The proposals and recommendations of the Research Group on the Development of the Socialist-Oriented Market Economy in the New Domestic and International Context will contribute to the summation of 40 years of implementing the Party's reform policies and the development of documents for the upcoming 14th Party Congress.
In addition, the participants in the seminar also offered some suggestions on the need to further emphasize certain contents, especially the viewpoints and solutions for developing the socialist-oriented market economy in the new domestic and international context, in order to finalize the Report before submitting it to the Steering Committee.

The content of the opinions expressed during the seminar and the written contributions submitted to the seminar will continue to be refined by the Research Group to serve in the development of documents related to the implementation of Group 2's task on summarizing Content 3 - Economy: Development of the socialist-oriented market economy over 40 years of reform in Vietnam.
