This year, many famous "brands" returned and immediately reaped success. These include: Shin-chan: The Mystery! Tenkasu Academy (released 2.5), Monsters at the Zoo (9.5), Doraemon: Nobita and the Adventures in the Picture World (23.5), Lilo & Stitch (23.5)...
According to statistics from Box Office Vietnam, Doraemon and Lilo & Stitch are currently at the top of the box office revenue chart. After only 2 days of early screening, Doraemon has recorded revenue of more than 30 billion VND.

The above successes are not difficult to predict because most of these films have characters that are not only familiar to children but are also a part of the childhood of many people.
Notably, this year there are also 2 Vietnamese 3D animated films released in theaters, including Trang Quynh nhi: Truyen thuy Kim Nguu by director - Meritorious Artist Trinh Lam Tung (Alpha Animation Studio, expected to premiere on June 20) and De Men: Cuoc thuy luu to Xom Lay Loi by director Mai Phuong (Plus Studio, expected to premiere on May 30). This can be said to be a positive signal, because it has been a long time since a domestic animated work has been released. According to information from the producer, these are dedicated products that took a long time to make with high quality, thereby expecting to bring impressive movie-watching experiences.
Although having to compete with famous foreign films, the market share of the two Vietnamese animated films is currently very open. Firstly, foreign films were released in May, so the two Vietnamese films will have an advantage when they are released in June. In addition, the image of Trang Quynh in the folklore treasure and De Men in the work of writer To Hoai are also familiar, not inferior to foreign characters. In particular, De Men: Adventure to the Swamp Village has 2 versions dubbed in the Northern or Southern accent, helping the audience to freely choose. After the film's release for 2 weeks, "blockbusters" such as Elio - The Boy from Earth (expected to be released on June 13), How to Train Your Dragon (June 13) and Smurfs (July 18) will be released - this also helps the film have enough time to be noticed, hopefully opening the door for the commercialization of Vietnamese animated films in the near future.
