Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee visits and supports households affected by storms and tornadoes

On the afternoon of September 12, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc visited, encouraged, and presented financial support to 3 households in An Phu commune whose roofs were completely blown off due to the storm in An Phu commune. Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province Ha Minh Trang accompanied the delegation.

At 5:30 p.m. on September 11, heavy rain and thunderstorms occurred in An Phu commune, causing damage to 17 houses in the hamlets of Phuoc Thanh, Phuoc My, Phu Nghia and Phu My; of which, 5 houses had their roofs completely blown off and 11 houses suffered damage from 20% - 50%. The thunderstorms also caused damage to crops and livestock.

At the places he visited, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Cong Thuc kindly inquired about the situation and directly presented support money to 3 households whose houses had their roofs completely blown off, encouraging the households to make efforts to overcome difficulties.

Comrade Ngo Cong Thuc directed the local government to continue coordinating with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, the police and military forces, and the People's Committees of the hamlets to urgently support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives and production.

Accordingly, 5 households whose roofs were completely damaged were supported with 3 million VND/household; the remaining households were supported with 2 million VND/household. The total amount of money donated was 37 million VND, from the Provincial Relief Fund.
