The school has a scale of more than 990 students/37 classes. Of which, the primary level is 550 students, with 25 classes, the secondary level is 440 students, with 12 classes. According to the plan, the number of students staying in the boarding school is about 240 students, the rest are semi-boarders; lunch is organized at school for all students and lunch break for semi-boarders.

On the same morning, Dak Lak also simultaneously started construction of two inter-level schools in the border communes of Ia Lop and Buon Don.

Specifically, Buon Don Inter-level School was newly built in Thong Nhat village. The total investment is more than 158.6 billion VND.

The school is expected to have 1,155 students, including boarding and day students. Of which, 700 are primary school students and 455 are secondary school students.

Ia Lop Inter-level School was upgraded and expanded from the existing facilities of Nguyen Trai Primary School and Tran Hung Dao Secondary School into Ia Lop Inter-level Primary - Secondary Boarding School. Total investment is 105 billion VND.

Modern school, combining boarding and day-boarding policies

Along with Dak Lak, the groundbreaking ceremony for 72 primary and secondary boarding schools took place in 17 provinces and cities on the morning of November 9. The 72 schools above are on the list of 100 primary and secondary boarding schools to be invested in 2025, to be completed before August 30, 2026.

In the context of complicated weather conditions due to the impact of storm No. 13, localities such as Da Nang , Quang Ngai, and Gia Lai could not organize a direct groundbreaking ceremony, but still connected online and were ready to start construction on site as soon as conditions allowed, ensuring absolute safety for people and vehicles.

The program to build 100 inter-level boarding schools in border communes (phase 1, 2025 - 2026) under the investment policy to complete the construction of 248 schools in border communes) is a key and important task, concretizing the policy of the Politburo and the Government on developing education in disadvantaged areas, narrowing the regional gap, creating equality in access to education and contributing to strengthening social security, developing the economy - society and maintaining national security and defense in border areas. The total investment cost for building 100 schools is nearly 20,000 billion VND.

The simultaneous groundbreaking ceremony of 72 projects, with the participation of leaders of the Government, ministries, branches and localities, demonstrates the spirit of close coordination and high determination of the entire political system in caring for students in border areas, fully preparing conditions to soon complete investment in 100 schools before the 2026-2027 school year.

The Ministry of Construction has designed the model of inter-level boarding schools to ensure technical standards, scale, and classroom area; a synchronous, modern, sustainable, and safe system of facilities; and to meet the highest current standards of general school facilities.

Each school is arranged with a study area, a dormitory, a dining hall, a cultural and sports area, a library, subject classrooms, and a teachers' dormitory, ensuring comprehensive conditions for study, living, and training.

The Ministry of Education and Training has identified this as a new school model, not a "compressed school" or a "dispersed school", but a modern, synchronous model, combining flexible boarding and semi-boarding policies, suitable for the terrain conditions and circumstances of students in border areas.
